There is a lot of excellent art in this thread, and very inspirational on what can really be done with a promo.

It's one of the best parts of this job, checking out new art everyday.

Some nice promo art today. Design Anvil's nunchuk and poses set with mid70's Bruce Lee movie inspired poster works really well though I must admit a bit of a bias since I grew up watching those types of films. But since promo art's primary purpose is to get a click through and generate interest these work.

    full size at the links.

I think this is second time I posted one of Mindvision's promo creations, all I can say the guy has a photographer's eye when it comes to rendering female fashions. The water, the lighting, the pose and the expression all work to draw the attention.

Yep, so I like pretty much ever single promo artfully rendered by Joelegecko...

I particularly liked this one the other day. The metal looks excellent. Shiiinnnny. O_O

I love promos. Even if I'm not interested in the product, I'll still look at the promos. :)

Good point Saiyaness, appreciating the art is separate from needing to buy the product. Sometimes they intersect, other times we just get to look at cool stuff.

Speaking of metal, I picked up the Weapons of War a while back, because I thought the DAZ Studio rendered metal looked real battle authentic, the kind of metal a blacksmith would forge in the medieval ages. http://www.daz3d.com/weapons-of-war
The set only showed one dynamic action story telling type promo, but it did show what I needed to click through.

There's seems to be a lot of nice images coming out this week, this motorcycle snapshot by Luthbellina looks so real. Great details on the product and texture materials. Check out that chrome and the reflections. http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/luthbelli-classic

Another fine day of promo art. Today is Faveral's new interior Explorer's Den. The product itself has such amazing details and the promos show it off. Outstanding! Particularly like this camera angle.

There's a bit of postwork in this one today, from the master of Photoshop brushes, but it's a darn cool image, classic fantasy pose with the warrior princess and the two swords. Powder by Deviney

Thank you for taking the time to point that out, it's always important to direct credit where credit is due. The Sweet Taste of Revenge by Rgus is an awesome rendered image deserving of the attention.

This new concert promo is interesting for the sheer number of characters in it, and the realism of the poses and the scene setup, and it all works to convey a life experience that we've seen a few times. The poses are by FeralFey though because it's a DAZ buyout the art may have been done inhouse. Cool image either way.

    Thanks :)

That one was tricky with all those instanced groups of clothed figures ( you can find a couple copies that break the illusion of a real concert crowd unfortunately ). But for a product promo, I think that is quite cool...

Good stuff Joel, been looking into DS instancing, it's a powerful tool.

Somehow I missed showcasing this Ranger outfit by 3DUniverse, which has all the best elements for realistic useful leather body armour for a female archer. The promo is great slice of life, The environment looks like Stonemason forest and the dead bird in the water and her mid gravity pose, midstep propped up off the rock, hints at a slice of life instant in the midst of a larger unfolding story. The hunt is on.

Just look at this sky! The Godrays cutting through the clouds. The landscape that goes on to the horizon line. Very nice. This is from Easy Environment Autumn by Flipmode showcasing the included skybox. It's a great promo.

This promo is like a still frame from a Disney movie, it lyrical and animated, and just the right amount of storytelling. We've got emotion with an accurate expression and pose and the render itself has just the right settings for bump and details. It's from the As You Wish bundle. I don't particualrly need genie wear or a magic lamp, but the render works very well as a promo.

You don't know how long I've been hoping to be mentioned in this thread :) Thank-you so much for the mention, you have made my day, maybe even my year. This is one of my favorite renders, period, let alone a promo. And it was Poser, which I haven't used for a render in about 8-10 years, so I'm doubly happy with it.

Pleas forgive me for jumping the gun. As for a new item from the Lilith release, one really caught my eye. Perhaps it was the surprise of "I know that face", rather then any artistic "over the top-ness". Still it is what sells stuff I guess, you see something in a promo, and start looking for the item. I'm referring in this instance to EJ Leilani, featured in the Oona Hair promos. The two go together so well.

    http://www.daz3d.com/oona-hair
    (edit)
Case and point, there is a hair style used in the Lilith starter bundle cover, that is either a morph of "Oona Hair", a morph of "Desideria Hair", or a style yet to be released, hmm. In fact I see a very similar style used on the "Kamala Outfit for G2F" and "Fantasy for Kamala Outfit" cover-pictures as well. I don't think this is the Wachiwi hair, as that one exposes the ears.

Thanks Zarcon, feel free to post more images when you see something you like as should other please, I never intended to be carrying this thread alone, because like you said, the promos are what triggers the interest and each of us have unique tastes. Everybody's welcomed to post.

I was thinking I recognized that hair from Kamala, or more specifically the jewelled chains, from earlier this years Olympia's release so I went have a look and it's quite possibly Persephone hair.

The promo for DzFire's new cyber drone caught my eye. It's not only a dynamic render with cool lighting, it has the fun little touch that the air column from the drone's rotors looks to be blowing over and distorting the title text. Love it.

Phenomenal Cosmic Power, Itty bitty living space. - aladdin. Lol.
In western cultures, there everyone's dream fantasy. In middle eastern cultures, there evil personified. Perhaps like with other things in the real world, they are neither and both, good and evil.

I was thinking of this thread as I was going threw my wish list, and there it is, lol
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/663044/
There are others in that pack that have great use of art. One with a really nice reflective floor, another with smoke coming out of the lamp, etc.

The pic I wont upload again, is from one of the products included in the "As You Wish Bundle"
    http://www.daz3d.com/women/as-you-wish-bundle

As for the hair bundle with Lilith, I've fussed with and managed to make a preset for me. It involves modified maps from the original, so uploading or sharing it is not, legal. so here is how I did it, no full renders yet.

And I can't come here without posting something of value. So here is,
    EJ Perla
    http://www.daz3d.com/ej-perla

It's not really a scene, tho the overlay of images is extremely well done, almost like a dream of sorts. Yes this one, not the cover stood out as a relay phenomenal one artistically. The rest are exceptional in regard to giving the potential buyer an idea of what the figure is all about, not that they are not also very artistically done up. The cover pic is perfect as a cover pic for the figure, and the rest are well layed out in showing the different options.

    Lol !

The story behind it is that on the planet where Maykedgia and Veuktoya, from the DgeeneezeesSsyx tribe are living, the food is essentially made of delicious radioactive giant sprawns, explaining their base color (it acts a bit like on flamingos on earth). The blue specular/scatter color comes from the fact that there are tons of oxydated Vanadium in the atmosphere, accumulating at their dermis/epidermis interface, and where the light hits their skins Vanadium turns in it forth level of oxidation, generating this blue color.

More seriously The Skin of the male is in the male and the bundle version in full presets for Gianni. For female, if I remember well, I must have applied almost the same settings as for the males. I used one of the area lights sets included to get this specific specular shapes, but you can reach really stranger specular distributions using distant lights.

@ SereneNight, yes the PA have one (or 2?) days with discount on all their store the day the product is released. And since I made both amazing skins and ultimate military, ultimate military is discounted too.

I've always liked the realism that 3D potentially offers, and when a modeller pays attention to detail, that coupled with a good rendering software results with some great art. This School's Out promo caught my eye because it looks pretty darn close to my grade school that's long since been torn down. There's condos there now. Bigger version of the image on the AntFarm's store page. http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/school-s-out-19787

There are plenty of poses sets released regularly around here, and they tend to have very organized and structured promo style, so to have a set stand out is a rare treat. I really like the black and white photographic tones on Haute Monde's promos by LunchLady and the way the poses were laid out on the promo art in groups of 3 or 4, it gave the art a nice balance. Throw in the fade frame and subtle background and it all works.
