Get head to follow object as it moves in animation.

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

I would like all members of a crowd of people's heads to follow another character on stage who is moving about.

I tried using an old script from mcasual, attaching a camera as a follow point to the head of the character moving about and then running the script on each member of the crowds heads.

However this didn't work I think because the script is for an older version.

But basically I want the crowd to look at the first character, the follow parameter doesn't seem to work either.

The script I tried was from here.

Anyone know how to get it to work ?

The script is updated to DS4 but is only for 1 figure at a time I believe. So each Figure would need the Script applied to it. I do not think it was designed to work that way. You could PM Casual and ask if they have one that would work for a crowd. They have threads in the Freepozitory.

Its not the crowd that is the issue, its that it doesn't follow the character for all the frames of the animation.

Did you Parent the Camera to the Figure?

Yes, parented to the figure head

Well that's odd, how many frames does it drop?

It only does the first one.

I parent a camera to the head of my target figure, I then select view from this camera using daz camera interface (you have to do this as the script only targets the active camera).

I then select the head of the figure I want to look at the other figure using the scene tab. I then run the script over the entire range of frames for the animation.

After the script has run I change camera views to look at my scene, and indeed the figure whose head I selected is looking at the target camera, but only for that first frame.

    :(

I still say go PM Casual. I just use KeyMate and GraphMate and hand edit follows in when I do them. I'm still in test fase of learning all the tools so I'm not 100% on it all yet.
