How do I reset Install Manager to redownload all files

My external HD that I had my content on, died a truly horrible death today. I had started using it when the first version of the Install manager was released.

I have to re-download most of my content. How do I get Install Manager to reset and install to a new HD?

Thanks,
ncamp

Go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles and delete those files -- that's where Install Manager records what has been installed. After you delete them the items will show up in Ready To Download again.

Normally you would go to the Installed tab and uninstall everything, then in the "Ready to Install" tab you would delete the installers. (I haven't verified this but I think you can check and then right-click on the top-level Products and there was an option to delete all the selected products at once). DIM would then list them back in the "Ready to Download" tab.
I don't know what is going to happen if the products are no longer there to uninstall/delete though; I don't know if it will complain but try anyway, or complain and not try. Let us know if that doesn't work.

    Thanks guys,

I think I will try fixmypcmike's idea first. There are only 2503 items in that folder :)

I was installing the M5 pro bundle when the drive started to go cur-chunk, cur-chunk.

Did a quick test and cut a couple of the M5 files out of the directory and pasted them somewhere else. Install manager wants to download them again.

Don't delete the manifests -- rename the folder so DIM doesn't see it and do the downloads again. Then rename the folder back, and DIM will know what has been installed. Unless, of course, you were also installing to the drive that died . . .

Just found this thread. My external hard drive died a horrible death recently and, of course, that's where I was installing my files from DIM.

Even though my old folders are all gone, DIM shows my files as having been installed. What's the best method for getting DIM to reset those files which were installed to that external drive so I can reinstall them again?

    Thanks!

Go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles and delete all the files, then DIM won't think they're installed.

Good Luck SmallFry. I'm trying to do the exact opposite so I don't have to reinstall everything.

    ::sigh::

MQ there are 2 folders that hold files only the Manifest folder maters here. The trick is it has to be in the exact path that DIM expects it. Try this Use DIM to install one item. That will create the Folder in its default location on your PC with one file in it. Now Populate that folder with all your older files and pop your done.

Thanks! Once I found the folder, deleting the files did the trick.

I found my files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles. I did a search for "ManifestFiles" to find the right folder for my PC. I guess I have it setup differently...

    Thanks again!

I had to look up this thread again after the stupid external hard drive I got to replace the one that died in March died as well.

Stay away from Seagate drives, everyone. Learn from my example.

It really isn't as brand issue with external hard drives as it is a design issue. Too many manufacturers are putting large 2 TB and 3 TB drives in tiny fashionable cases that leads to the drives getting very hot while in use, shorting their lifespan.
