Ron's and Gimp

Simple question: In Gimp, can you use Ron's brushes? Or is Ron's only usable in Photoshop?

I ask because I'm working on a render where I need to have steam applied, as well as a little photo manipulation.

Also, since I'm asking a question, might as well ask another one. I'm currently deployed, and the internet here is sketchy at best. Is there a particular site I should visit in order to get Gimp or Photoshop that has a function similar to DIM or (those that like audio books) the Audible downloader?

Thanks all!

Adobe has its creative cloud app. You don't need to be a subscriber to use it. I outright own my copy of CS6 and it still updates through the CC app.

Yes, Ron's brushes can be used in gimp. I use them all the time. You manually download his brushes into a specific folder where you can find them. Gimp has their FAQ's and one of them deals with importing/adding brushes. They have a step by step on how to add them. There is a folder in gimp that you simply copy the new brushes into. I think I have it bookmarked. I will dig up that info and post it for you.

They work beautifully in the GIMP. I just bought a bunch of his water brushes and wish I had done it sooner.

You have to hand it to the guys who work on the GIMP for making it able to read Photoshop's .abr format.
