Importing LINES

I have been trying to IMPORT some vector line art of a logo into HEXAGON and can figure it out SOOOO I remembered you could import a Illustrator EPS file into the SPLINE molder THEN I may be able to use it.

BUT I cant seem to do that. I am suing Illustrator CS 4 and Carrrara 8.1 on mac.

HOW can I get so LINE ART so I can EXTRUDE it in Carrrara?

    OKAY! I watched one of Mark Bremmers Tutorials about the Spline modeler. Says you can import line/or vector art from an Illustrator file.

    I tried to import a very simple circle. From Illustrator CS into both carrara 7 and 8..

    It says "INCAPABLE data. Make sure this file only contains vector data. From Illustrator version 8 or less"

    SO how does one get LINE art into the spline modeler into carrara???

    You have to save your Illustrator file as an Illustrator version 8 file. I just did a quick test, and yes, Carrara rejects my CS5 file, but if I save it out as version 8 Carrara accepts it. When you save out your Illustrator file, there should be a pull down menu for Version.
