Summer Love Sale and Render Contest

Summer time, a time when when love, both young and old, blossoms anew. I remember my first summer love. I thought that it would never end, but just as time fades so did her affection towards me. My heart broken, I turned to a new love, a love that would never scorn me, a love that would endure to this very day - my love of 3D art.

We don't want you to be heart broken this summer, so for today only we are offering the Summer Love Sale. The idea is simple, you need love, we need love, but most importantly Victoria 5, Aiko 5, Stephanie 5, Michael 5, Hiro 5 and Freak 5 need love. Buy one item in the category and get 30% off the original price OR buy any two items in the Summer Love Category to make a couple and get 50% off the original price. The Platinum Club discount will stack for additional savings. Both items must be in the cart to get the 50% off. Discounts will apply at checkout.

Post your Summer Love renders to this thread. Renders must include two of the figures featured in the promotion. The winner will get a $5 gift card and be announced Monday morning DAZ Time. Limit to two entries per user. Entries will be judged based on over all quality and interpretation of the theme - Summer Love.

    On another note, how come David 5 isn't part of this? (or is he too new perhaps?)

    Why is Troll included, whereas Anubis or Gorilla are left as singles?! :P

    Yes, entries are to be posted here. Young Teens 5 and kids 4 can be used, but you must still use 2 of the products from the summer love category.

    Just to check, you said winners would be posted Monday, but is there a deadline on the entries? Or was that also the 8th? Or is my lack of sleep catching up with me and it's obvious?

    I did not specify a deadline for entries. That didn't even cross my mind. This is the first contest I've set up, so I apologize if some of the details are lacking. Let's say the deadline will be Monday the 12th of August 2013 at 8:00 AM Mountain Time. That will give me time to judge each entry and decide on a winner, hopefully before noon.

    Thank you for pointing this out. You are astute even in your sleepless state :-)

    After careful deliberation with my colleagues we have decided on a two way tie for this contest. Scorpio64dragon's render entitled "Summer Rain" and Vanguard's "Inseparable Summer" have taken the top spot. We felt "Summer Rain" had great composition and lighting as well as a very convincing raining effect. The image is a great take on the idea of "Summer Love." "Inseparable Summer" had great posing, especially in the expression in the two figures. There's just something in V5's expression, a wanting, a yearning. Very convincing posing and lighting.

    Thank you so much to everyone for participating in the contest. Scorpio and Vanguard I will be adding store credit to your account momentarily. Great job!

    Thanks for the fun and inspiration. I wouldn't have thought of doing something like this. Up to now all my renders with Victoria and Michael have been of Vicky kicking Michael's butt in battle. Nice to see them get along now :D

    The poses were what interested me for this piece. I still had to bend the scenery to get it to work, notice her leg doesn't quite hit the ground.

    All in all it wasn't terribly difficult given the great tools that DAZ offers, the great figures that are M5 and V5, and a little luck.

    Wonderful submissions by everyone given the short time. I particularly liked MelanieL's theme of the generations of love.

    Great work all. Congrats scorpio, great scene, and thanks for the prize.
