get adblock plus for chrome or firefox

what happens is there is a new system for personalized advertizing. Lets say you visit a site like amazon or newegg or ever daz

when you go to another site that has add space it will show an add for the last site you visited sometimes even showing the products you visited.

thatguywiththeglasses.com is one of the sites that I visit that use that kind of add space

I think it uses your cookies.

I'm glad to know there actually are DAZ adds out there. I never see them. I get adds for outdoor lighting and chairs and other stuff I have searched for to get concept ideas.

I signed into Google+ for chat reasons both on Android and PC
    and
    now Daz is absolutely EVERYWHERE
    on youtube videos
on varoius dubious sick joke sites
when looking for a gas space heater and kerosene heater wicks
and I live in Carrara Qld a lot of the time

just think if one browsed pr0n sites, those ads would come up on your pc at work and the boss would know!

Thanks... I was thinking about looking into finding out how to block ads like that, as that sort of targeted advertising is VERY annoying (and not very effective or accurate)... I blame Google... I suppose it pays their bill, but whatever.

I figured someone might appreciate what I saw when I went to that page though...

The ads based on where I go does not bother me, it makes more sense than ads that have nothing to do with anything I wont get, but I was just on a IT forum that wouldn't let me read an article unless I answered with my cookie cutter response to political agenda.
    This is a new one.

I think the Undead Fiend was a bad choice for a mascot image. While it definitely is interesting and memorable, and probably targets a demographic Daz wants to go after, it is not a good choice for representing what Daz is as an Avatar.

Case in point, whenever I would use smart content to pull up G2F, I would miss it because it looks like an undead fiend in the products view (I'm a visual thinker). The Gen2 Starter Essentials that includes G2F uses the box image with the Fiend as its Icon (not that I will ever actually get a box of Daz). Ironically, the Fiend isn't even IN the starter essentials, however Fiend is the corporate image Daz wants to portray Studio, so now G2F=Fiend. Hmmm, maybe this could be the cause of some of the negative reaction to G2F?

I fixed it by replacing the Fiend Icon with G2F actor Icon (renamed), and it makes a lot more sense to me now when I browse smart contents.

I wouldn't be surprised that they found a demographic that loves it and has the money (or more likely parents' money) to spend on content. If you look at what is getting made and posted in CG magazines and on CG sites, it seems to be mostly gruesome monsters of some kind followed by scantily clad ladies.

The power of marketing. I have to learn about these stuff for a elective marketing class and it's very interesting.
