Predatron Promo Banner Gone (SOLVED) But Willow Spring Photos & Products Discussion

Now wait just a minute! I am dead tired and stayed up to post samples of the Predatron DS Lights because the promo banner said the store was 60% today. Now it's gone. WHAT IS THE DEAL?????? I don't appreciate being made to look like a liar over in my art studio, nor do I appreciate staying up till 4am in the morning posting the DS lights for people to see- just to have the promo disappear to be replaced by some pixie looking chick Aoiri or whatever

I AM TICKED.

    It was probably only a short limited time sale Raw's store is on sale now, wish I had seen Predatron's though.

    Thanks for posting this, I was beginning to wonder if I'd been hallucinating. I was so excited to see that sale but then I went back to check and poof it had vanished! It was there on the banner alongside Raw's so it looked like both were going to run.

    Please come back, Predatron sale. It said 'today only' but that was the quickest 24 hours I've ever seen!

    P.S. Sorry about all your work to tie in with the sale getting spoiled like that, Novica. :(

    I guess it was pulled because it wasn't working! I kept checking while the banner was up, but the Predatron stuff never displayed the discounts. So hopefully it'll come back when they've got it working (keeping fingers crossed!)

    Ahh another broken sale- hopefully it will go back up.

    Hi folks- let me clarify (I just got back up, had to get some sleep and I was so miffed I was still awake at 5am)
    When the banner went down, so did the sale prices, but yes, it never worked in the cart. Glad it's back up :) If you want to see what the Predatron DS lights, do, yes, I have each light shown shining on my Chiara character at World Center (0/0/0) Keep in mind that isn't always a good representation of how they will light a SCENE as my figure may be way closer to the lights than an entire scene would be, but you get a good idea.

    And FYI- I'm doing almost ALL the lights I have- including those that come with the sets- so have fun! You'll get some surprises and may decide to buy a set or character just for the lights (Jasmin/Jason is one of them.) (EDIT- see art studio link in signature)

    I literally was falling asleep (and fell asleep) in my chair, waking up to post the renders, but sorry I was so cranky. It was just important to me that you got to see the lights. 60% is a big deal. :)

    Predatron's trees are good and I use the grass product quite a bit.

    Willow Spring is gorgeous. (I see Novica also recommends it in her thread -- loads of helpful info over there.)

    Thanks for the kudos, always- ALWAYS appreciated. I'll go through the store and tell you what I have. Several of us covered the Pred grass- GRAB THAT if you don't have it- before it goes off sale. Will be right back.

    And btw, I listed Willow Spring as one of my TOP THREE sets- if I only got to choose 3, it would be one of the three. Why? Lots of different angles to shoot from and get gorgeous shots. You have the lion fountain, great detailed stone walls for ultimate closeups, lots of props including vegetation and things like barrels, a balcony, the list goes on.

    This was testing lights, so not a perfect render, but you'll see the set.

    To tell you the level of detail in Willow Spring, where the balcony ends- one the ground floor, there is actually stairs leading down to a small, windowless room where you can store those barrels, etc. I was amazed. I took my camera down the stairs, and if you want claustrophobic, you'll get it. I was like, "Get me OUT OF HERE!" I couldn't zoom out fast enough, lol. I'll see if I can find the post where I showed the set and will put it here. (Be sure and check back as edits don't get noted if you're subscribed to the thread.)

    Agreed, definitely- I have all the vegetation I think. That grass is a MUST have IMO. You get it long, short, very nice and you can also raise and lower it in the ground plane to suit your tastes.

    Okay, notes- if you get Willow Spring...
    1. you will have barrels- maybe the same ones as in the Barrel Collection (which of course I bought, not knowing Willow Spring had barrels AND crates btw)

    2. You also will get the willow tree

    I've doodled with, and will be featuring this one, another favorite- there is a good building to use, you can see it in the other promo shots-. You also get barrels (those barrels certainly get around, lol!) and a boat with oars that move.For $7- a good deal at 60% off!

    I didn't see it before, but Trash Stash has SIXTY props. Am buying that now. (Thanks a LOT Anikad, this is all your fault!) I also just bought the Troglodyte and both armor sets. EDIT: (Bought the bundle- there's on set in the bundle which has the Troglodyte) If you want to enter Creature Creation contests, this dude would be interesting to add to your morphs, right? Love to see him added to a fairie....lol.

    Geez, you got me started.
    Want to mention this here though, for folks who don't get into the art studio.

    Low resolution crocks n pots are a good value, and I've putzed around with them adding my own patterns. I didn't save any of them, but for newbies in particular, let me explain quickly. In Surfaces tab, you can put an image in the Diffuse channel and greatly change the look of the object. Do if for clothes, vases, you name it. Below are a shirt and a vase that were changed just by adding a photo to the Diffuse. (NOTE IT WAS NOT FROM THE PREDATRON SET BELOW, I am sharing a concept.) So perhaps consider these to play with as they're slightly over $5 with the sale. And you get a LOT.

    I liked my lighting on this :) (And it's mine. I haven't done a single preset light in any of my renders. I'm just now exploring those, hence the review of all lights that I just started.)

    I see you took advantage of the staircase going up- very nice. I haven't used that view. Your female character is based on which figure? I like her.

    LOL- because you caused me to go back to Predatron and look at what I'd bought, then I noticed what I DIDN'T have.... so to be more precise, I guess I should be thanking you :) (my hubby's wallet isn't but I am!) Have you found anything you like? The buildings bundle looks good. Thanks for pointing it out!

    This seems like a nice set for closeups with glass windows btw. I don't like the glaring red letters (which can be changed in surfaces) but those glass windows and a revolving door for around $4 is worthwhile to me.

    If you have the multiplane cyclorama, you'll get 2 mats for a forest background to use. I'm not a fan of the flames, but wondering if other flames can be brought in too? I guess the rocks can't be separated out, wonder if it could go on top of or replace the ones in the scene. http://www.daz3d.com/western-bric-a-brac (I already have it, so won't hurt to try, right?)
