Not AFAIK ... depending upon what you're planning though, might be a good idea to make mention of your intentions "just in case" they're planning to release a similar item. For morphs though, you cannot redistribute their work ... gets rather complicated with work a-rounds.

For morphs on clothes the user must have the specific Product. The morphs I intend to make just adds functionality, eg more movement. Nothing of their product is re-distrabuted. Eg same like making a morph for genesis. I aint re-distrabuting Genesis.

Texture sets, as long as they are your own work, no problems, My site is full of them 5gb of them.

morphs, if you are meaning adding morphs to existing clothing sets, I am not quite sure how you would do that.

There is no way you are allowed to redistribute the existing mesh, in any form. So how were you planning on making the morphs available

Make morphs on clothes in external 3d app. Import via morph loader, Save dialed morphs. So the user must have the clothing set in order for the morphs to work. Otherwise it is just useless information. This is for Genesis specific clothing.

I think I understand what you are saying. The person who downloaded the morphs would then need to use Morph loader to install the morphs themselfs. I think that is a very NEW way to think of doing things.

Not really. By using morph loader they need the modifying meshes to import, which is illigal distrabution wise. The morphs I create will already be available as morph dials. Similar to when you dial up a morph for Genesis, but this will be for the clothing set. All they will need is the original product.

For what? If it's clothing for Genesis you can do that, saving as a dsf morph and including the files from the \data\cltohing maker\clothing set\item\base\morphs\yourname\yourproduct folder, but it won't work for other clothing as the pose doesn't include the morph deltas but only the parameter setting.

Okay I'm lost now. How do I get the Dial's into my item? Is it by just distrubiting the DATA files for the built morphs? Or is it something you wish I would shut up about?

Edit: Never mind Richard just said it as I asked it.

Second EDIT: I still think that is a nice new way to add morphs to Genesis Items. Heck it would work for any Item wouldn't it? As long as it was in DS4.

For Genesis clothing only yes. I know it doesn't work for other clothes. So my question remains, do you need permission from the PA to do this for his/her clothing? It should be along as the same legal lines as releasing a texture set?

It would certainly be polite to ask, I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary.

I will definately ask. I just wanted to know the legal part of whether it was acceptable or not before I approach the vendor:)

I just wish to say it was nice to be here at the start of what might be a new inovation in content.

It's certainly not something DAZ has an issue with - indeed the ability to easily share morphs is one of the plus features of the TriAx system.

Lol, I'm sure someone else was thinking the same thing as me:) But Thanks:) I am a big fan of 3d-Age, Hongyu for the morphs they include in their clothing. If I or others can give sets the gift of functionality then I'm all for it:)
