Layered Image Surface question

If I have "makeups" for a V4 face, but the makeup is on a white (not transparent) background, is there a way or setting to layer this and have DS assume any white is transparent?

Yes, that's what Blend Mode is for.... I believe you want Multiplicative Blend mode. It's an easy thing to change in your layers though so if it's not multiplicative, try additive, etc.
Edited to add:
My memory tells me
White Background = Multiplicative
Black Background = Additive
Alpha Background = Alpha
and I can't remember when/where you use the subtractive blend. ^_^;;
OK, I'll take a look and give it a try, thanks!
FOLLOW-UP: Yep, thanks, multiplicative Blend worked. Ends up I was also having problems where the 2 images were differing sizes, but that is not apparent in that editor. Between the two fixed, it worked well! :)
Also remember that you can always create a separate transparency mask image and apply that to an image using the 'Add Mask' option instead of 'Add Layer'.
