My first PC
...for about 40 - 50$ more than the cost of the 16K Sinclair memory module, you can get 16GB. (2 x 8GB)
for about 100$ less than I paid for my 12 GB I can get 24GB.
...the only rub is I need the Win7Pro upgrade to support the full 24G and right now that is becoming legacy software and thus more expensive than even the Win8 (yuk) update.
..here's mine:
I have 32GB atm and waiting for the 8GB stick to go on a good sale so I can put in 64GB
Mine, too. A friend of mine had a VIC-20, but I wasn't convinced until the C=64 came out.
OMG! Just saw this one on Facebook. About spit all over my monitor

...mine only supports 24G (ASUS P-6T), have to get a nw MB to go any higher and right now the finances are just not there. Still 24GB would be a big help for those large involved scenes I like to do which chew up almost 10GB during rendering. It's just getting the OS upgrade which is an issue since I have an OEM version of Win7. The sad thing is the full WIn7 Pro costs less than what I have been seeing for the upgrade (which makes little sense) but not really wanting to reinstall everything and go through the configuration issues all over again.
Mine has 8 DIMM slots in it. ATM I have 8 4GB cause the 4 8GB were too expensive at the time.
...you definitely have a newer MB than I. When I got mine, 6 slots was pretty much the maximum.
Does yours handle quad channel configuration?
Here are my Computers before I went IBM PC...
...here's mine before I ever went "personal".
Mine are quad channel. 32GB (8 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600MHz (PC3 12800) Quad Channel
Back in the mid 60s I was using one of these, and then the tape went up to a place something like that
You should see the MONSTER Jeff just got!

I just realized, mine is almost 2 years old now. Boy time flies.
I got a rock...
We got our oldest a coal stocking the one year for Christmas. He got other stuff
Back in the mid 60s I was using one of these, and then the tape went up to a place something like that
...I remember those.
...total crapholi! makes my beast look like a UNIVAC that still required manual core settings.
I need to win that Megabucks Lotto, Now!
...OK *uncle* I submit. I need to win the Lotto to afford a system like that.
...bugger, mine sucks in comparison. So much for eighteen months of research.
size is not important, it is what you do with it!
...but what it allows you to to with it is also important. When I'm sitting here and watching a render take over 10gb of my 12gb available 1, I get just a bit concerned.
I totally suck at layering in postwork
But the important thing is, can you play Solitaire on it? :)
:snake: AHAHAHA yep! And frank dats a nice computer too! (Puts my computer to shame, think its about 4-5 yrs old now and would die instantly if it saw yours)
But the important thing is, can you play Solitaire on it? :)
My Grandfather LOVED Solitaire! Was pretty much the only thing he'd get on the computer for. (Tho he'd check emails and loved burning his travel footage to DVD)

We got mine at tax time.
Frankie was Built for Animation purposes. Believe it or not some scenes still take too long to render for my taste.
@tjohn: This is the ultimate Gaming machine, it holds a grand total of..... ZERO games at this time.
@All others: Just because you have not SEEN anything I've done does not mean I have NOT been doing things with this PC.
