I've been playing with Marvelous Designer...and I read that you use it to make Dynamic clothes...but I don't see that much difference with the piece of cloth in Daz

So, I'm a bit confused, and I exporting it wrong...I sent it out as an OBJ

DAZ Studio cannot use Dynamic clothing unless it is created by Optitex, and then it uses the Dynamic Clothing Control.

If you have imported a mesh from MD as an OBJ file, then it will work as a static mesh, or you can rig it, and make it conforming clothing, but you cannot make it dynamic in DS

It's only dynamic in MD itself, when you bring it into Studio it becomes a static prop. You could then rig it to make it conforming, but i prefer to bring the posed figure from Studio into MD and let the dynamics work their magic.
MD is more and more turning into my 'external content library for clothing'.

That see,s very limiting when Daz can only use Dynamic Clothes made form 1 program

Still frames are all well and good...but that's not my purpose for the dynamic...I want them for games

...a lot of us have been wishing for full dynamic control in Daz. Would pretty much solve several issues with the autofit tool concerning skirts, trains, sashes, aprons, and large sleeves (such as those on a furisode). Also, it just looks more natural than conforming.

While pre-posing in another application is the only option for now, it has it's pitfalls especially if the main scene has an irregular floor plane, or the character is sitting on, leaning against something in the scene and/or is supposed to have a prop(s) in hand.

Once converted to an .obj, the character and clotting is frozen in that pose.

And I'm guessing that full dynamic control isn't going to happen?

...hard to say. Optitex's core software is geared towards the professional fashion design and clothing manufacturing industry and thus is priced pretty much out of the reach of the 3D hobbyist/enthusiast market. Not sure if they have a plugin for Daz Studio (more on the lines of the Poser Cloth room) in the works as nothing has been mentioned yet.

This has been one of the more popular suggestions over on the "What Would You Like To See In Daz Studio 5?" thread

Not only that, but Dynamic Clothing is also difficult to work with. Didn't know one could rig it to be conforming clothing. Any tutorials on that?

Right now what you'd need is probably more along the lines of a 3d modeling program with cloth sim (Blender has this if you're looking for something free), or Poser's cloth room as it can utilize anything and turn it into dynamic. You can even have hybrid clothing in Poser (conforming clothing with areas set to drape in the cloth room).

You'd save it out as an OBJ and from there it's the same process when rigging conforming clothing. There are tutorials everywhere on these forums. If you happen to have Sickle's rigging system, you can use that. Read the PDF manual and it tells you how.

...true, but the end result is much better and more natural looking. More important for clothing that has a lot of long and/or billowy fabric that would require a additional ghost bones or handles to keep from distorting when the figure is posed.

OK, then...I'll stick with non-dynamic clothes

What I'm wonder, since I"m basing all my clothes onto the base Genesis model, what would the best way to fix the chest for female morphs (clearly the guy morphs don't have breast to worry about)

Do I have to make a breast morph for ALL the female morphs (V5, A5, ect) or is there a shortcut on that part?

SickleYield has a breast fixer for Genesis somewhere. And a couple of free updates for it over at sharecg.com.

Unless that magically applies it to the clothes...it won't work for me

Even more so when I plan to put the stuff out...it needs to be usable for the people that download it

Not exactly, it applies to Genesis ... as is, it's intended for end users who apply it to Genesis, then load the clothing.

Thank you. Maybe if I get clothing rigging down, I'll buy some Dynamic Clothing in the store then rig them as conforming clothing for my own personal uses. :)
