Question: Generation 4 characters with beautiful profiles. Genesis?

I have been looking for female characters whose faces would look also look beautiful in profile (not just full frontal and 3/4 views).

Most vendors neglect to include profile promos, which has been a cause of much grief for me, not to mention that it discouraged me from buying quite a number of otherwise promising products.

So, if you have stumbled upon some characters who look beautiful and interesting in profile, please share your discoveries (and if you have a render of them in profile, it's even better!).

One of my all time favourites is Modern Muses: Lady Jane by Surreality. I wouldn't call her the most beautiful character, although she does have a haunting mysterious charm, but her profile is both distinctive and noble. (And was provided in the promos!) http://www.daz3d.com/modern-muses-lady-jane

I also found a few free characters from Oro_Snake to look quite beautiful in profile: Bella, Rogue, Willow, Evey.

Another question I have is about Genesis: is there a way to transfer character morphs from generation 4 figures to Genesis? (I haven't used Genesis yet)

You can transfer Gen4 morphs to Genesis using the GenX plugin: http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x

Yes. The commercial solution would require GenX (http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x), plus the appropriate shapes (http://www.daz3d.com/v4-and-m4-shapes-for-genesis, http://www.daz3d.com/gen-4-iconic-shapes-for-genesis). There are similar sets of shapes for many of the Generation 3 figures too, but they also require some add-ons for GenX. The shapes are currently on sale, GenX isn't at the moment. This isn't the cheapest way, but it has worked well for me.

There is also a way to transfer morphs without GenX (http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/20688/P105/#305893), but I've never tried it. It's the long post about halfway down the page by Kattey. You still need the appropriate shapes I linked to above. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the help with Genesis conversion! I'll check it out.

I am waiting for Carrara 8.5 to finally release before getting into Genesis for real, and since the release is slated for this month, I really need to start looking into all these details.

Any suggestions for characters with interesting profiles? :)

    Thank you again!

"Interesting" is in the eye of the beholder. But Andolaurina at Content Paradise has some good quality head morphs. I especially like AA Caroline for Victoria 4. Another favourite is Colleen by adamthwaites. And if you like "quirky" check out Darkseal's Sara for V4.

As I started reading this thread Surreality immediately came to mind but I saw you had already found one of her very distinctive characters. Perhaps another character set by Surreality that has not come to your attention is this: http://www.daz3d.com/otherworldly-wonders-equinox
It has amazing morphs - maybe about 50 of them or more. Some are variations but you'll definintely find several that you'll like. I use them all the time even with other textures.

As for other other interesting profiles, well since not all are posed at an exact profile here's a little compilation of my favourites :)

ETA: Forgot to mention these are all for V4

Thank you! I keep forgetting about CP when I look for content, so I hadn't even known about Andolaurina. I like the AA Caroline a lot too, and there is a profile in the promos! Bonus vendor points :). Violet, Sevilla, Elizabeth, Patricial and Isabella have very interesting, natural and beautiful profiles too. She is definitely an artist to keep and eye on and purchase from.

Wow!! Thank you so much! The reason my post is so late is because I wanted to include some renders of my own (see below).
Yes I have a number of packages from Surreality. Including the Equinox package. My only concern with the morphs from Surreality is that most have overly puckered lips in profile. I usually end up manually trying to fix that, but not all morphs fix up nicely. But I definitely appreciate otherwise strong and interesting profiles.

Thank you for sharing your favourites! I clearly share your taste here :).

I am attaching some of my favourite ones below (will post again when I get a chance to create more images with more profiles). I used the same texture on them all to highlight the difference of just the morphs.

While i like characters from Danae, the ones listed are the best profile-wise, but even they, I believe, are not looking too natural around the eyes: also subject to manual fixing for me.

The fact that most vendors post mostly frontal promos and the fact that so many characters look downright unnatural and weird in profile leads me to believe that character artists don't even look at their products in profile. And I hope it can be changed. No-shader promos are becoming a standard. And I think that for characters which include morphs, a profile promo should be a standard as well.

Please continue sharing your favourite characters' profiles in this thread. I think it can serve as an extra promotion for products. And if vendors want to show off their products' profiles as well, I think we all would appreciate it.
