Cannot access my content in Daz 4.6

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hi all,

I just installed Daz 4.6 after re-installing windows 7. I was previously using Daz 3.x

I have looked through so many tutorials and troubleshooters and still can't find a way to load my old content into daz 4.6.

My content is currently located in: libraries/pictures/my pictures/content. This is where it was kept in Daz 3 and worked just fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a huge amount of stuff, some of which can't be obtained any more. Failing a solution, does anyone know where I can download an old version of daz 3?

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

Content is located in Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library. If you are using DIM then it will be in Documents/My DAZ 3D Library

You should be able to download Studio 3 at least I am able to do that from my Accounts page. Look for P:roduct Library

If you are sure that your content is still in libraries/pictures/my pictures/content, then you will need to add that path in the Content Directory Manager, just the same as you did in DS3.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and enter the path for both your DAZ Studio AND Poser Formats

If you have reinstalled the content using the DAZ Install Manager (DIM), then, as Frank says, it installs by default into C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library, and you should add that path to your Content Directory Manager.

    Thanks Jimmy,

I have tried this but it doesn't seem to add anything to my smart content pane. The folder and files do appear on the right hand pane and can be used, but they are so jumbled, it makes it almost impossible to find what i need.

Do you know how to make the smart content pane detect and order these files in some usable way? I've tried using the seperate content manager, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks again everyone for your advice

Sadly it's no longer there. I am also missing a lot of my purchased Daz items. I think my only option is to fix this content manager problem and get all my old stuff into smart pane.

Older content isn't going to show up in Smart Content. Only new stuff will and even then not always.

Thanks Frank. I'm not liking daz 4.6 pro very much at all and I'm sure not rearranging my files AGAIN. I think I'll have to find a download of studio 3 and go back to that.

Thanks for your help though guys

If you bought DS3 it is still in your My Products library.
Your User name and Login must be the SAME as was used on the old Site to have access to your OLD files.
