I don't have it- but for people to help you, are you using DAZ Studio or Poser? There are different instructions for each on the product page.
Is it something where you have to click on the object to get the materials to work? (As I said, I haven't a clue on this.) It's coming right along, whatever you're doing :)

the magicFX i DL isnt working. it will show in my library but when i go to put it on the image it doesnt do anything : \

These FX items come in two parts; a prop or figure which you must load into your scene first, and materials for that prop or figure, which you must have selected before you try to add a material. If you try to just add an FX material to your scene with no FX object, then it won't work.

Just thought of something else — some of these FX products are just expansion textures for another product which includes the actual FX objects. What was the exact name of the FX stuff you bought, and do you have any others?

ok well, i DL the HeroFX Alchemy MagicFX and when i click on the FXplaneM a message pops up and says cannot find file for "/runtime/geometries/netherworks/FX-plane.obj. possible i need to DL something first before i use it? and i have tried to select objects to put them on but doesnt work.

One thing that might help is seeing the filename extensions — I'm fairly sure this is turned off by default. Pull down the Edit menu, select Preferences, and click on the Content Library tab. Up at the top, make sure the "Show File Extensions" tickbox is ticked, then hit the "Accept" button at the bottom.

This lets you see in the Content Library/Smart Content tab what type of file you're trying to load into your scene. These are (I think) all old Poser files, so the extensions will be:

thing.cr2 - a figure, the actual object you must load first
thing.pp2 - a prop, like a figure except it usually doesn't have moving parts.
texture1.pz2 - a texture, which can only be applied to an object that's already in your scene

Note that .pz2 is a bit of a swiss-army-knife file type. It can be used to apply a texture, or a pose, or a morph to an object.
