Adjusting/Tweaking Figure Vertices in Animation Mode-will it work?
FAO Wendy
Someone kindly said that to see a figure as I have morphed, you need to view it in Animation mode not Modelling mode. So it does show up in Animation mode with all the morphs and poses. I need to further mess with the face often and found I can do this in Animation mode, but it's hit or miss whether they "take" or don't go beserk.
See attached. I am a COMPLETE newbie...so maybe I am trying to do something that isn't possible, but it sort of works. If there is another way, PLEASE I'd be eternally grateful. I often need to work with head and face shapes to get a primitive peoples look. The fantasy morphs that come with figures, like Freak or Sasquatch don't give the right look. I have tried to do most of the work in DAZ studio first but would like to find a better way.

Hi :) You can only create/modify morphs in modelling mode, i think... EDIT:what version of Carrara do you have?
Beta 8.5 .
If it's a Genesis figure, eg, I cannot see it as morphed in the Model room, it looks like basic M5 or whatever... you wouldn't know what vertices to choose to manipulate it seems to me. So choosing Animation mode shows the morphed model. It's the moving the bits I'm trying to get my head around! I wish I could find that original poster who mentioned it. I probably mistakenly thought you could easily edit in that mode. It's hit or miss it seems which is a shame becuase when it works it works....sort of.

Not quite sure what's happened there.. i never really made morphs for Daz figures in Carrara and i only have Carrara7... You could try exporting it to OBJ with the morphs and importing it back into Carrara. :)
Hi laurenwbr.
Editing a posed Genesis model in the modeling room is there(Pro only feature?), however it has major issues in my testing(C8.5 Pro beta build 204). For instance. I can create a new morph to edit, or edit an existing morph, then go into Animation Mode. The model is posed correctly and I can start editing, but I can not validate without getting an error(100% repeatable). Until this is fixed I can't see the results. Maybe some others can confirm the issue or give more info.
Thanks tbwoq. You described it perfectly! I am so new that my explanations aren't very clear and apologise for that. But I really want to know how to get this to work!!
Wish someone from the development team would sort this for Pro. As you said, it sometimes works or it goes nuts when you try to validate it. I found if I got out of the selection tool, I can sometimes avoid the message and jump back to Assemble. If the changes are there I quickly save. That's when sometimes the changes morph out of control.
If all the tools are there, it would seem a small step to add custom morph tweaking... it's so useful!
Thanks again for helping to understand. :):):):)
Cheers, Silene
Glad some info helped. :)
The editing while posed feature is very important in fixing some poke throughs and adding morphs. I hope some of the morph issues are fixed for next weeks version 8.5 release, or Genesis compatability is not ready(imho). Be sure to save often or before using the morphs editing for Genesis, as two of the major issues I have require me to force quit Carrara.
