Problems Wit DAZ Content Management Service

Ok, I've been having problems with new content not showing up in Smart Content at all, and frequently not in the Content Library pane either. Since yesterday, the Smart Content pane won't show any content at all, old or new. I'm using Win7 64 bit.

The content management service runs (if I open the Task Manager) until I start Studio; then the service stops. Restarting the service doesn't make the content show up in Studio, and if I close Studio & restart it, then the service stops again. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried reinistalling Studio, but it hasn't helped. Thanks.

Sounds like the database is corrupt. Have you made your own categories? If you haven't, I would suggest shutting down DS, uninstalling CMS, and deleting the databases. Then reinstall CMS (if you use DIM, there's an installer for CMS in the DIM application folder; otherwise reinstall DS).

If you have made custom categories, try these steps first:
    1) uninstall and reinstall CMS but don't delete the databases
    2) if that doesn't solve the problem, stop CMS, delete just the database index (ContentDB.ind), then restart CMS and DS; give DS a minute to rebuild the index and see if it works.

Where can I find ContentDB.ind? A search via Windows isn't turning up anything.

You will need hidden and system files visible, the default location would be in ProgramData.

It may also be in: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service\databases (Unless you chose a custom install)

The content database gets corrupted often on my computer but I've no idea why. I have found a way to get it working again.

Every time I update my categories, before I exit Daz Studio I go to Content DB Maintenance and run the Export User Data option.

When the content database fails I exit Daz Studio, stop the content management service, delete the database, start the service, the go into Content DB Maintenance and run the Re-import metadata option.

This fixes the database and gets back my customised categories.

The folder was empty. I'm still poking around.

I found that folder, but there was nothing in it. After re-installing Studio again, the folder has now changed its name to CMS; it has a lot of items in it now, but no database.

I hate to sound like a noob, but how do I go to Content DB Maintenance? I'm not finding anywhere to do that.

D'oh! I forgot that the options change depending on which tab you have selected. I found it. It didn't help, but thanks anyway. I'm going to try a few more things before I hit the sack.

I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, but when I re-install Studio, I get the following error message:

So far, still no luck. I'm not sure if there could be a registry problem, but I wouldn't have the first idea of where to start.
