I am looking to finish a render up with a sci-fi space craft and would like to know what are some of your favorite sci-fi space crafts and vehicles and if you could be so kind as to post some renders that would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Sadly, I have a bunch of nice ones that I have not quite gotten around to using yet.
While technically Stonemason's Skyrider isn't marked as a spacecraft, it looks like and could be used as one, and I have an (admittedly very dark) render of that.
There's also an entire store category devoted to them if you want to look at promo renders: http://www.daz3d.com/vehicles/space

I like the skyrider and yes it does work as a space craft. That is an awesome render, thanks for posting. I have been in the catalog and have a few picked out but would like to see what people have and how they use them. Thanks again.

I used a wireframe render of the Allied Fleet Destroyer in this image, as part of my published graphic novel, The Lesser Evil.

That is super cool! Would you say its your favorite ship?

It's definitely one of them. The detail in it is just astounding. Here's another image for a better look at it.

On the downside, it's just an obj file, though, so can't be easily manipulated or edited, if that's your intention.

I also really like the Vanguard, available here at DAZ. It's very versatile and well-detailed.

You really can't go wrong with a skynet3020 or Kibarreto product.

Well, this is more of my own idea, what if the red dwarf was a star trek ship?

My favorite so far, is the

    Shuttlestar.

    http://www.daz3d.com/shuttlestar

I tend to only render interior shots and this works well.

    I also like the

Luxurystar. It can look slightly less detailed than I like in closeups, but it is good for distance shots and backgrounds.

    Interiors?

Here is a post combining some of Kibarreto's ships

The first one is Command, Powerstar + Final + Command, Luxurystar, & (multiple) Starcarrier along with several smallcraft from the one man Wasp (old) all the way up to the Vanguard.

The second is a closeup of the launch bays with a two man (Viper) and one man (Wasp) fighter. The intermediate size smallcraft are all four man ships.

When I eventually use this layout, I'll probably split the powerstar fro the powerstar final. Having the launch tubes connected to the engine room seems silly

To me the Luxurystar seems to be a room in search of a purpose.

I'm toying with the idea of using the Ironstar turret also.

My favorite model is SGU`s DESTINY. The free model made by Ksst and can be found here:
    http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=bcc2b679389c13fffae947e64ee50374
The model was heavily edited by me, before it could be used in DS....

The backdrop i`ve created with a very old software called "Universe":

My all-time favourite would be the Liberator from Blake's 7. Some of the sets used in the series may have been a bit wobbly, but the Liberator was an original and iconic design. Sadly I don't have a 3D model of it to hand, but others have done some very nice renders.

If i had some time, i work on Ksst`s free DESTINY starship from Stargate Universe. At first, i`ve corrected many parts with no / wrong UV maps to the right ones. Added the 3 PUDDLE JUMPERS to the DESTINY. Changed a lot of textures to a "better seen from fare :-))" version. Change some geometries, e.g. the bridge and many others...Added strobe lights and spots to the ship. Have repair the FTL engine. Now the ship can visit the next few galaxies :-)) But i help the crew in the future....

I swear I answered this somewhere. Unfortunately the Viper is an old no longer available Daz product. Something to do with it being too similar to a Warhammer 40K model, I think.

Wicked images!! Didn't care for SG Universe much, but loved SG1 and SGA

I do like the "ptropeAerospace DART" that's for sale over on Rendo - it's a two-seater that has armed and unarmed variants. It's been in the Clearance category for a while, so grab it sooner rather than later. ptrope has a couple of freebie expansions for it, too - you can find links to those over in the Star Trek appreciation thread.

I used a couple of DARTs in this image: http://www.fenspace.net/images/1/1f/Piracy.png

(Slight digression: is there a model of a Firefly-class ship out there anywhere?)

I have been a Star Trek fan all my life and I have to admit I do like a lot of their ships.

Madkoifish's version of the Constitution Class is a really beautiful rework of a classic.

The Akira Class is a nice design too. This particular image of the Akira Class was a combination of a DS4 render of the ship and a Lux Render image of the lights.

Here's one of my recent renders, the Colony Mover with a few star fighters. Rendered in Carrara 8.5 Pro.

It needs a bit of postwork, maybe a bit of noise filtering.
