A material that loads on any material zone?

Is it possible to create a material that can be loaded on any material zone without creating a shader? If so, how?

I've tried to save a "default" material but that did not help...

I believe it would need to be shader based, as the other option would be using the UV map of a specific object.

Save as Shader preset will create a material file that can be loaded onto any surface.
It will only save the surface selected in the Surface tab.

    Thank's m8's!

I've figured it out now, it was not as hard as I expected to create a shader preset ;)

Just be mindful of the shader you're basing it on. The top of the surfaces tab will tell you the currently loaded shader (Daz Default, AoA Subsurface, etc).

    Thanks for that info!

It's Daz Default, exactly the same as the materials I've created. I just want to be able to load individual material zones without having to create one material for every material zone since it's 16 colours and 10 material zones...

Also, with the shader one does not have to look up the correct material for every zone one want to change the colour on...

FYI, when you apply a shader preset, you can hold the Ctrl key when you click on it and get a little option window that will let you ignor textures listed in the shader preset so they dont overwrite the ones your using and only apply all the other settings from the preset.

To be honest, you can do that with all native DS file types. Depeding on the purpose of the file will depend on the options that are displayed
