Load items without textures/shaders?

Hello!

I am using custom shaders, especially on clothes, most of the time. I also like to mix and match clothes from different sets to create unique outfits.
So I thought it would be cool to be able to load items like clothes without textures/shaders. Is this possible somehow?

I know they can be removed manually, but this takes some time, especially when you try out things and load lots of different sets. And I also think that posing, detecting pokes and setting up lights is much easier with the untextured meshes.

So, again, is it possible to load items without textures/shaders in DAZ 4.6?

No, but you could save a Shader preset for a plain grey surface (or a couple of different tints if you want to use it for spotting poke-through) and apply that to each item. If you control-click to apply the preset (cmd-click on a Mac) and tell it to apply to all surfaces, not just selected surfaces, then go to the Preferences tab and click Set Preferred Options you can apply any preset to all surfaces on a selected item by holding the shoft key down when you launch it. So

Save one or more Shader Presets with the neutral settings you want

Make them Custom Actions (right-click on their entries in the Content Library and select the option from the menu) - that adds them to the Scripts menu

Set presets to apply to all surfaces when shift is help down (this does affect all shader presets, note).

Now in future you can load an item, make sure it's selected, and shift-click on the default materials in the Scripts menu to clear it to that state.

Ok, thats not as easy and simple as I was hoping, but I will try that.

    Thank you!

It is simple if you know how and once it is done then it is even more simple. :)

Of course, for that genuine, "never been touched" experience you can always just import the geometry (.OBJ) file. (But you'll have to find it first!)
