OT - Insane Photography

Just ran across this in the news and thought it was interesting.

Photographer Jefferey Martin put together a 150GB photo of Tokyo. They says it's 600, 000 pixels wide. I wonder if you could put together a 3D scene that big? I know a few who have made rather large 3D pictures in parts.

    My question is what photo editing program can handle a picture of that size? I have Photoshop CS4 and it gets slow when the picture gets up to like 100mb or so.

    I think the biggest 3D picture I saw was by Neezonline. He did a highway picture but I forget how big it was. Took him about a year to do. Very cool stuff.

    You would do it similar to how you do it with the camera, in pieces and stitch them together. I've seen where people made a grid of cameras specifically for this purpose, something that one couldn't do irl very easy, so in some ways it's actually easier in 3D.
