Stephanie 4 and her beach outfits missing?

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

I just downloaded Stephanie 4 and the beach outfits for Daz. But there is no way I can see them in Daz.
I had this problem with other things I downloaded and suddenly they appeared in the smart content area.
Can anyone help me out?

I would really appreciate it.

Greetings
Marc

Steph will show up in the same place as your V4 stuff, usually under poser formats. Steph 4 is basically a modified V4, although she does load as a separate figure.

She does require that V4 be already loaded on the computer.

Many thanks for your post. I am sorry but I still do not get it. I run Daz on Max OSX. Isn't it normal then that all my characters would appear under the content library tab in loading/creating. It does not.

    Can you enlighten me further?

    Regards
    Marc

Ok, I have left a message for a Mac User to come and help you, but it may take a while as he is in a different time zone to you, and is probably in bed now.

    Hello,

first, not all characters do have "smart content", many old one doesn't.
If you look in Content-Library -tab, and under Poser Formats -> Figures -> DAZ People you will her and most older Gen 3 and 4 characters there. Remember also that S4 (Stephanie 4) is an add on to Victoria 4 (V4) base and requires that V4 is installed.

    I hope this helps.

If it doesn't, how did you install her? Via DIM or running installers? Most old installers default to a very wrong path when installing, you need to tell the installer where you have installed your things.

I am sorry I cannot find it. In Daz Characters there's not even V4 eventhough I downloaded her.
I think the files are not in the right path. What is the right path? I installed with the latest DIM software.
Where do the files have to be on a mac?

Regards and thanks alot for your help.

OK, seems to be installed into /Users/Shared/My DAZ 3D Library, and that is mapped.
If you use the Content Library Tab, not the smart content (please forget/ignore/pretend you never heard of smart-content when you use Gen-4 or older figures).
Now, in the Content Library Tab navigate to Poser Formats -> My DAZ 3D Library -> Figures -> DAZ People.
    What do you find there?

    You have Victoria 4 there.
If you start DIM, go to the Installed Tab, then type Stephanie 4.

The hold your mouse ptr over the line saying Stephanie Elite Base, and screen shot all (including the small help panel that pops up when you hold the mouse there.

    Ahh!

That is Stephanie 4 for Genesis (which is a Morph for Genesis, not a Gen-4 figure.
You will see that if you load a Genesis, then i Shaping, Actor Female there will be a Stephanie 4 slider for Genesis.
