EDIT: I found out what triggered the "unsupported figure." when I tried the Ocean Monokini (which is beautiful.) I am not sure, but I think I had one figure in the viewport but perhaps clicked on a different figure in Scene tab. I got "unsupported figure" and that would explain why it loaded weird. Thanks to ScorpioDragon, we figured out that was the most likely problem as it loaded fine the second time, even when the figure was posed.
