Next on the agenda is more Babies pics. I want to do 8-10 in Daddies II but got somewhat derailed making Daddies III With Yuki from Rendo. Originally I was going to bundle them all together, but sadly Yuki and Tobyn poses are not interchangeable due to alien spawn  Baby Tobyn so I decided Yuki will have to go in pack III.

If you have anything you want me to do with Baby Tobyn, now's the time to speak, as I'm looking for a couple more ideas for him, in this freebie set.

    From Left to right:

    5. Red ad Blue holding Tobyn

    6.  Blue holding Tobyn

    7. Blue resting with Tobyn.

    Daddies III

    1. Yuki and Daddies Swinging

    2. Yuki getting a piggy back ride.

Sanjay hair has some unsual settings. I doubt it is specifically setup for henna but the look is certainly achievable.

On the left are base hair colors. on the right are the tints.

In addition to those settings, you can also dye the roots and the tips.

It is a very complex hair set. It is almost a bit much for me. But then again, I like sort of natural hair colors.

Wow, that's neat. Worth buying to see how they did it technically compared to the other hair products.

One of my favorite Pa's Dzheng has made a pose set. I particularly like these fun sunglasses flipping poses.

Here is the H&C Dress shirt outfit for G8M Since this requires simulation, I am not doing more than one render.

Overall,  I like it. There is some odd clinginess at the elbow and abs, and the dress shoes are slighly thin for my tastes, but I like it.

Owen most certainly doesn't want to share Baby Tobyn at this specific moment. Fortunately, Boyd is quite pleased Owen likes their son so much.

Owen's pose and  Tobyn's are from the Daddies II pose set. Boyd had a standard laying down pose not made by me.

Maybe a bottle feeding pose, if that can be managed? I don't think there's one in the Family Poses and the other poses seem to be mostly solo baby poses.

Good idea. I’ll include a bottle feeding pose.

So there have been a few new men's releases today. The most interesting one was (for me) https://www.daz3d.com/casual-outfits-for-genesis-8-males

Despite stating it has iray textures, it has no iray textures. It is 3DL.  Has anyone made a good render of it? I am struggling with this set. Some part of it seems to be blowing out on me.

I didn't check out the surface settings but it seemed to render okay while I was testing last night. I'm guessing they will call it 'Iray compatable' and good enough :-( I found the shoes didn't always take poses well. Crinkles like they would with autofit

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,654

They have in the past said 3dl is good enough when rendering in Iray but not good enough for me. It doesn’t have Iray shaders. The necks of the outfits are strange looking. I love the pants though

  • 3Ddreamer3Ddreamer Posts: 1,305

I agree about it not being 'good enough', and it was the pants that made me pick them up too. Not a huge fan of bodysuit type outfits and haven't looked at the material zones and if there is anything that can be done with changing the colours of the shirts/hoodie to give a bit more variety.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,654

You can’t change a thing. You’d have to change the texture itself. It is just a photo on top of a single piece model.

  • 3Ddreamer3Ddreamer Posts: 1,305

Pity :-( Might think twice about buying another set, but hope to get some mileage out of these three.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,654

I would keep it but lighting it is challenging. The pink shirt for example blows out in day light and there is no way to alter the color of it without changing the pants and the whole set. It looks better in darker scenes.

Okay, so here are the three Polygonal Miniatures Casual Outfits

These textures are photo-real and are on a single bodysuit style mesh. They render quickly, and I think the pants in particular look pretty good.

there are some problem areas, particularly in the neckline, and sometimes the shoes. Each set comes with a single texture that you cannot alter without taking the entire texture into photoshop to doctor. When you do, be prepared to look at a very complex texture.

They look best in less bright lighting... Which is why Owen is wearing the outfits. Boyd kind of gets some brighter lights which make these ouftis blow out to some extent.

Been watching Polygonal Miniatures for a while. They have some amazing stuff with great textures and folds. I wonder what effect simulating DForce has on any of these? I have a pair or two of their jeans, and many other things on the wishlist. Those really rendered well!

It is all one-piece bodysuit. Shoes are attached to jeans, jeans attached to shirt - so I think dforce would just make things warp. They look great but not very flexible and no use for kit-bashing. I'd particularly like the trousers/ jeans for kit-bashing, and as Serene said - no mat-zones to hide or re-colour shirts (for example) out of the box.

You can't really dforce it. There isn't much to the bodysuit

Here's what the bodysuit of texture 1 looks like without the texture.

Here is Owen in the new texture expansion of the Atlas Suit. The texture expansion includes a beret, a patrol cap, several different textures, and chest  insignias as well as insignias for the caps and military branch.

I think the textures turned out really well, and I like the ability to customize your own insignias and military badges. To get Owen's last name (which is Kelly) finally on his uniform I had to take the blank badge, and try to match the font. It is important that the badge text be in the center and close to the same size as the other nametags so it doesn't look too out of place. This was the closest font I could find, but it isn't the same font. I matched the color of the other font by using the eyedropper tool, and put a layer of grunge over it so it matched the style of the others. It is... Close enough for now.

The only thing I didn't like is that the textures weren't well organized. The armored suit textures were jumbled together, so the first thing I did was go in there and organize them by the color type so that I could find matching items easily. It was too much for me to have it all mingled together like a tossed salad.

Overally, I liked this set. Nice.

Here is the tech armor color on Boyd. The rank here is not correct.

All brains are by nature extremely educated, so they most likely are officer's rank. Although they may choose to be the same rank as their Primes .

Since Brains lack the ability to conform to military standards and do not conform to social norms, they aren't well suited to the enlisted life without the companionship of their primes. Even with their prime's guidance, Brains have their own rules and guidelines that that they must follow dictated by their guild.

Even with these quirks, brains are deemed valuable to their units, and their quirks ignored, in favor of the huge benefits they provide with their tech skills and combat capabilities.

Depending on when a person becomes an Alpha would be the deciding factor. A socially well adjusted person who happens to become mortally injured in a car wreck as an adult for example- would make a lower skilled alpha probably only suited for operating humanoid bodies... But would probably have more social skills than someone tanked as a child.

Depending on the age of the alpha when they leave their body, depends a lot on the skill of the brain at adapting. Child brains tend to be more able to adapt to the body changes, the high velocity speeds, and the rigors of being an alpha than an older person who becomes one later in life.  Of course there aren't many of those, since, it is illegal for anyone to create an Alpha against his or her will, especially a child.but that cannot be said for other countries. There are still enough child casualties to get a few alphas into the program a year and there are plenty of injured soldiers who opt in. But just because you want to be an alpha doesn't mean, you can be. They weed out those with psych issues, or any kind of brain issues. They are unsuited to be alphas. A mentally ill alpha is dangerous, and all brains are treated regularly to prevent any sort of neurological issues form happening after the process occurs. So Boyd the brain, will never, for example- have a nervous breakdown, or become neurotic. Most mental illness can be cured in the future, but a mentally ill Alpha could be quite deadly.

Brains are intellectual, intelligent, multi-taskers. They don't require as much sleep as regular humans do. They tend to be excellent at operating machinary. They usually can do more than one thing at a time, and since they aren't worried about operating the body, and social pressur related to courtship, they are much more intently focused on jobs than people are.

While alphas are given a little hormones to ensure proper brain development, it is not the same as having full raging testosterone or estrogen, so they are a bit... Less motivated by the same things as embodied people are.

Part of the reason alphas are given primes, was that the Guild determined alphas' are much more sociable and well adjusted when with a partner who understands them.  Also Alphas are human, so they tend to pine and not thrive when deprived of social interraction. Being a Alpha can be stressful, so they choose calm earthy types, such as Owen.

Guild raised brains, tend to have a psychologically approved social structure, including surrogates which help the brains function. When they are in their late teens or adult they get paired with a prime, who helps them navigate the world, and is their partner.

As far as quirks go, an alpha might have weird eating habits. They eat the equivalent of liquid ensure in the tank, and not having the same taste buds, mean they find flavr combinations humans like to be odd. They might have trouble dressing, coordinating clothing, or even talking with their mouths, as alphas communicate with people using a broadcast option through their chips in their huds, or a synthized voicebox.  They probably aren't very good at things that take people a long time to learn, like social clues, tolerating physical touch, etc. All those things are things that they just don't have much experience with since they are body liberated.

Boyd the alpha is a bit more social than other alphas, because he is an extreme extrovert. He also has a degree in human psychology.

However, he talks a lot, and sometimes blows up Owen's hud with factual information. Fortunately, Owen rather likes his talkative boyfriend and finds the info useful, but others might not be able to parse it all, and might be annoyed. Boyd likes odd flavor combinations, has trouble dressing in coodinating clothing, and doesn't understand the dating process too well. He is very protective of Owen, and doesn't quite undestand his own physical strength as a human, and finds the excess of hormones a bit of a suprise.

Boyd does pick up stuff quickly, and can learn stuff Owen shows him when he joins with Owen using ttheir pairing chip. If for example, he did not know how to... Clean and load a specific weapon, but was paired with Owen when he showed him, Boyd could pick it up quickly. Or if Owen spoke Chinese, and Boyd did not know the language, he would when paired with Owen. This also works vice versa, as Owen learns things that Boyd can do as well, far quicker.

Alphas make good soldiers because they are immune to psychological manipulation, illusion, emotional outburts, and torture. They are driven, hardworking, precise and relentless. Alphas are suited to running military bases, being pilots, snipers, and computer techs. They operate best in careers which require decision making, and individuality, and may not be so great at following orders as they might see many more possibilities and opportunities than the person giving the orders, and are accustomed to making individual judgements faster than most humans can make a decision what to do.

Learning in the future, can be accomplished also using chips. If you don't know French for example, you can insert a chip which will give you a complete understanding. This unfortunately, will take up a slot, and slots are kind of limited... Brains have lots more slots than regular people so they can potentially load up on skills this way as well. IF they lose the chip though, they won't have the skill, unless they spend time studying. Brains can insert various chips to help them learn specific things, but they are limited to data on the chip. A chip holder might insert a martial arts chip, and be able to learn the skills on the chip and use them, but they might not be physically fit, enough to survive a blow, or be able to use skills not included in the chips' routines.

So newly embodied Boyd is quirky. He's physcially strong and gets a ton of testosterone, and all kinds of odd feelings generated by his new body including physical pain, which most alphas only have a limited sense of. He also is dumped into a stressful situation of having to rescue Owen from the Forbidden zone. So he is... Angry and raging, and frustrated, and worried, and all kinds of things, he might not be otherwise were he to remain in his bot body.

The expansion looks good on them.

You might ask in the commercial forum what font the PA used so you can have an exact match. Of course, you've already thought of that. laugh

    Yes. Great minds and all!

The font is: Eurostile, Bold x2

It is a freed download from Adobe CC. If you google it, you fcan sign into your adobe CC account and download it for free. Interestingly, I had no idea I could do that.
