Modern Medicine Uniforms for Genesis 8

I'm hoping to see some modern nurse uniforms in the realistic vien for my hospital emegency room sets... I've seen plenty of 'sexy nurse' and historic nurse uniforms but nothing like what modern professionals are wearing...  Also if its possible name tags where we can switch names..   These uniforms should be for both male and female nurses and it would be really interesting if Gen 8 gets a straight jacket with included poses ..

Is the doctor going to be in soon?

https://www.daz3d.com/prison-clothes-and-scrubs-for-genesis-2-female-s (in their scrubs guise) are one possibility. Also https://www.daz3d.com/uniform-dress-for-genesis-2-female-s . They're neither of them new, but both will autofit to a G8F...

I don't know whether either is "like what modern professionals are wearing," but they look like what you get if you do a Google Image search for "nurse" so I guess they're close.

The best way to switch names on name tags is to find the image used in the tag's diffuse shader, copy it, and then use an image editor to change the name and whatever else.

Wow!  I love it... I wonder if somebody will update that uniform for Genesis 8 and update it to Iray material..  Hopefully when they do, they do a better job of the small details like laces on the shoes or a buckle on the straps.  Hats should have seemed stiches that give the appearance of material instead of just flat white with an emphasis on "Realism".

  • The Uniform Dress already has iray materials, the hat is a bit basic, but again you could use an image editor to add more details (from what I can see, nurses wearing hats is a bit old fashioned too). Autofitting does mangle the skirt part of the dress a little, you might get better results if you have Sickleyield's Ultra Templates. Or it might dForce.

The scrubs don't have iray materials, so I just ran them through the generic iray shader. I would probably add a little grey to the diffuse channel to tone it down a little, but beyond that you're good to go - it fits beautifully. There's also a male version in the store which I don't have.

Shoes always struggle to autofit - G8F just has many more bones in her foot than G2F did. The best solution is probably to use suitable G8F shoes from another outfit.

It seems to me that PAs rarely replicate things from one generation to a later one. Maybe it's not cost effective to do so, or maybe they just want to be working on new things. That's not to say that there won't be a modern nurse uniform for G8F, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one. Better to develop skills in updating and adapting what's in the store already so you can get on with your rendering!

Thats good because I would hardly think that I've asked anybody to 'replicate' anything...  Nurses haven't dressed like your example photos since the 1970's.. maybe the 80's.. so I think it hardly counts as a "modern uniform".  Do you need examples or can you just google it?  Now days nurses where things that are much more colorful and easy to clean.

  • Here is an example of what a "Modern Uniform" looks like.. as you can see.. nobody wears dresses anymore..  shoes have laces on them and nobody wears an all white, long sleeve shirt under scrubs..  You will notice lots of color various as they have meaning to the people who wear them.  Notice how all the shoes a white?

Thanks for posting a picture - it's so much better than saying "modern nurse uniforms" and assuming people will know what you mean. Actually, I'm not sure it means anything - that might be what modern nurses look like in your part of the world, they might look totally different in mine.

Still, now we know what we're shooting for, the prison/scrubs outfit that I've already linked will let you achieve that look. The white sweatshirt worn under the top is optional, and can be removed (see the promo images on the product page). The scrubs come in a variety of colours (it wouldn't be hard to add more yourself by playing with the diffuse channel). Hard to tell from that tiny image, but their shoes look like white sneakers - so add in a pair of G8 sneakers like these ones dive into the diffuse channel to re-colour them white, and you're good to go.

The old fashioned uniform is actually still worn in a lot of places.

I have to confirm this...I've seen some of them recently.  The scubs with interesting patterns on them.  I actually worked in the shipping room of a nurses' uniform company years ago.  Some of the things I've seen in the past year or two still look kind of similar to the things we used to ship.  (at the time that I started working there, they were the No. 1 manufacturer...Whittenton Garment)  they closed in the late 80s...all their best competition moved to Mexico and they couldn't compete price-wise.

Thats pretty cool but its also not what I pictured in my mind artistically so I'm not really interested in an 'old fashioned' kind of look.. I like the nurses in my art to look modern and by your own description you acknowledge the fashion is "old".. I'm looking forward to seeing new..

    Thanks and happy rendering.

  • You can ditch the white shirt from the prison scrubs. Also, there is a bouffant hat in this...

There is a face mask in this set...
