Organizing Custom Morphs
I've created a pair of trousers and I've created different wrinkle patterns for different poses. I import them as morphs from Zbrush just fine, but they're only available in the scene where I imported them. How do I organize morphs for a custom product so they are available whenever the clothing is loaded? This seems to be a basic concept I've missed somewhere along the way.
I have a DAZ library folder where I've been organizing all my original content and it is identified in the Content Directory Manager. My clothing items were fit to Genesis using the Transfer utility, then saved as a figure in various product folders in my original directory. I'm able to pull them up from the Content Library with no problem.
Sorry for such a basic question, and any help is appreciated!

File>Save as>Support Asset>Morph Asset, assuming the trousers are in triAx format. The author and product names determine where in the item's \Data folder the morph files are written.
I'm able to import an object file via the morph loader, the Hexagon Bridge, or GoZ and create a morph with a slider that appears with my item under Parameters. The problem is that it won't show up in any other scene besides the one in which it was originally imported.
And have you tried saving it as a Morph Asset yet? What figure are the trousers for?
Hi,
Thanks for not losing patience with me:)
Here's my workflow:
The original geometry for the trousers was created from and for Genesis in Zbrush.
The trouser obj was imported into a Daz scene with Genesis loaded
The transfer utility was used to make the object into a pair of trousers for Genesis and was saved as a figure with a product name, my name, etc. using the "save as" process. I now have a pair of trousers with a thumbnail in the catalog and it loads just fine and fits-to and moves with the figure as it should.
In Zbrush, I added wrinkles to the trousers and saved as a new object.
I select the original trousers while on Genesis in Daz
Using the Morph Loader Advanced, I select the morphed trousers and import them. I successfully get a slider under parameters with the new morph and it alters the trousers as expected.
I close the file and start from scratch with a new file and load Genesis.
I load the trousers.
No morphs are listed for the trousers.
I have also tried using the Hexagon bridge, and again I manage to create a morph with a slider, etc., but it disappears when scenes are changed.
What is the more correct workflow for this process?
Thanks again,
Forrest
You need to import the morph, then with the trousers selected go to File>Save as>Support Asset>Morph Asset, enter your author/product name (this controls the folders created in the morphs sub folder of the folder created when you saved the trousers as a figure asset) and make sure your morph(s) are checked. Once saved as an asset the morph will always load with the figure.
Got it!
Thanks for your help. It's really important to think out your product names and be consistent and organized. I appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.
All the best,
Forrest
