PA's Congrats to a Great Year of Creativity. There has been some really cool products.
So how to grow your business the next season?
This is the deal. I spent several thousand $ this year on 3D content to build by media development content library and material tool-sets -however its nearly all purchases were for product that is licensed for 3d publishing, My creative projects now call for it. I make 3d mini-games, "walk through" 3d storys, and publish it multi-platform as 3d real-time rendered media (web, flash, android, pdf, .exe, mac, and such) as downloadable freebie entertainment. You see while 2D is here to stay, 3d real time rendering however is going to be huge by this time next year. WebGL alone and has the potential to drive the 3d content market going forward. There are many other enabling factors including Android devices with the new Nvidia GPU chipset, Streaming 3D with GPU Cloud Computing, WebGL in IE 11, Flash 11 has matured and is ubiquitous, and should I dare suggest the even the Oculus Rift ? Of course there are also the market drivers things like 3d social games, MMP virtual reality titles and it in professional marketing, advertising and demonstration.

So... if you want to garner sales for those concerned about leveraging 3d content investment well into the next generation of rendering systems, make it easy for us to buy the 3d published licensed version. Also make the TOS/License clear and easy to access prior to purchase. It would help if DAZ considered loading license & assoc metadata for DS DIM, SmartC, Store Account, Store Prod Info and Customer Account - aka RL IClone & Cornucopia).

Follow the lead of DAZ Original, RawArt, and RealLusion 3D Exchange and offer GAME LICENSES or Game Ready royalty free content so to expand your market segment to 3d media (like WebGL &Flash; 3D story books) publishers, social media 3D Avatars (think 2nd Life) and indy game developers. The technology is here today and its coming fast to a consumer near you. Get your products on the 3D train today.

Must say I appreciate all PA's and want to Thanks for all the great work, inspiration and fun your efforts deliver. I do recognize what it takes to create, with quality. I am not even close to DAZ store quality and can only make 3d freebies so far but I am improving. Making the games and websites with the content sure is fun though!

Hoping I can publish some of YOUR creations in my next project. If you feel there are downsides, or hurdles towards licencing your products for 3d publication, please chime in on this thread and identify your concerns. The way I see, its a low risk, low cost way to expand your market and increase utilization and visibility.

Cheers,
'Dream Cutter

If you're talking about rendered 2d sprites, which most flash/phone games have, literally anything here can already be used for that. It's only rerelease of meshes that requires a special license.

Yes, precisely. 3 dimensional real-time rendered, public publication. An example would be a game published on a users blog in Flash stage 3d or webGL using decimated versions of the typical figures found in the store here with reduced resolution or obfuscated textures so it complies with the spirit of typical "indy game dev game license" terms.
But to encourage sales - the price and sale of the blanket store license or per item license upgrade must be easy to procure as the any other content item to take provide the non ambivalent purchaser convenience and planning.

This would also add comparability and standardization with two of the other industry content distributors that do (licensing) this and may even cross-market with the DAZ store, already.:zip:
