Where to finding Poser / Daz3d artists looking for commission projects

Hi folks,
Might be off-topic but please forgive a newbie for his lack of knowledge =D
I recently purchased the program in the hopes of being able to design characters for a fan fiction project I'm working on. The issue is that I'm not very good. While I might get there in time, it chews the limited time I have available to actually write the thing!
Just wondering where I would find people with experience who didn’t mind working on a couple of characters a month for some pocket money. I had an artist before but the chap went and got himself gainfully employed and now I'm back to square one.
I happy to show examples of the type of work he was doing for me. The arrangement we had was that he charged $50 per character (standing against a white background). I would pay for any costumes, props, and the facial character basis for the design and then he would get to keep them after. Each month I had a standing order for 3 characters but sometimes this did increase (when the wife felt I'd been especially good that particular month).
If anyone is interested then please let me know. Likewise if there is a more appropriate place to post then let me know.
Thanks,
D

That sounds like a sweet deal, being paid and getting to keep the resources used to produce the character.

Sorry, that is probably a valid point.
An example of a completed character :)

Just to be clear, if both the OP and the artist have the content installed on their systems then that would require two licenses of the content to be purchased. If the artist is "keeping" the content then the only thing that could be legally delivered to the OP would be a rendered animation or still frame image, or presets for the content made by the artist.

    Hi Jared,

Just to be clear and to show there is no breech of licensing. I would select the character basis, outfit, and props. I would then nominate that to the artist and they would bill me for both the commission work and the cost of required files.

They would download the content to their system and only provide the finished product to me (the OP?) as a jpeg or png image. At no stage would we both have access to the files. For me it would be redundant given my obvious lack of skill in this field.

    Thanks,
    D

That sounds legitimate. I wish you luck in your endeavor. If I had the skills myself I would offer my services, alas I have never been burdened with an abundance of artistic skill.

I have no talent to produce quality 3D work, I just use 3D as reference for my digital painting or I would jump on this--sounds like fun.

You probably already do this, but definitely ask for samples of work before jumping in with anyone. A lot of people think they can do 3D well enough to go commercial. A lot of people are wrong (just look at the majority of book cover art done by 3D artists and you'll see what I mean).

    Good luck with your project.

And people who do have that skill are less likely to do commissions, because it pays much less per hour than making content to sell in the open market. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying, it's rare.
