Victoria 6 Compatibility

Some months ago I bought Victoria 6. At about the same time I started to dabble into Daz. A lot of this is new to me. So I am here asking a question about buying from the Daz Shop.
How do I know what clothing and accessories are compatible with Victoria 6?
I am noticing different things are noted as being for Victoria 5 or 4, but I don't see as much for Victoria 6. Could I apply something for a previous Victoria to Victoria 6?

Hope this helps.

Would it be safe to say anything that says it is for Genesis 2 is also good for Victoria 6?
Victoria 6 is a morph package for Genesis 2, so to make it simple, Victoria 6 is Genesis 2.
Awesome! That makes sense to me.
So then I am safe getting anything for Genesis 2. That is a big help.
Thanks.
Okay... Another question... What about Genesis clothing and accessories? Do I just use auto fit to apply such to Genesis 2/Victoria 6?
Yes, any product that is made for the Genesis 2 Female model will work for your V6 shape. As it was already mentioned by TheWheelMan, V6 is a morph of Genesis 2 Female (or G2F for short). This also means that if you purchase any of the other G2F morphs (V4, Gia, Girl 6, or any future morphs), the content you have now or continue to buy later will also work for them.
The only caveat is that pose don't necessarily translate well between the shapes without manual adjustment. Some shapes have broader hips or shoulders which can cause unexpected poke-through when hands are near the thighs, or when the hands are close to the body. As a pose maker myself, I'm currently looking into how to simplify this process for customers so that they can spend more time focusing on their artwork and less time tailoring parameter dials to fit one pose designed for one shape onto another.
That's not to say that all poses have this problem. There are plenty of poses that work across the board. It's just something to be aware of, but it shouldn't prevent you from buying pose sets.
Autofit works for Genesis clothing but with some exceptions. Skirts (especially long dresses) tend to get a little distorted and footwear also doesn't convert perfectly. Also note that skins intended for Genesis will only work on Genesis 2 if they use the Victoria 5 UV set. Victoria 4's UV set is available for Genesis 2 as well, but requires you to purchase the Victoria 4 shape for Genesis 2.
So if I am reading this right, any clothing or accessory for V4, Gia, Girl 6 is compatible with Victoria 6 because all of them are Genesis 2 morphs.
Is Victoria 5 not a G2 morph as well?
Yes that is correct, and no V5 is not a Genesis2 morph. It is only for Genesis1. But plans for a Genx for Genesis2 is apparently in the works, which will allow you to transfer any Genesis1 morph onto Genesis2. No ETA on that yet.
Interesting. I am learning so much. Thanks.
That's not exactly right. Gia, Girl 6, and V6 are all Genesis 2 Female characters...they were built for Genesis 2 Female and don't exist without it. Victoria 4 is much older, and content made for Victoria 4 was not made with Genesis 2 Female in mind. However, there is a V4 clone available that lets you use V4 content on Genesis 2 Female: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female Results may not always be perfect (it is a conversion process, after all) but in general it works well.
I've got a post on cross-generational compatibility here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/357924/ (see also the post immediately above it, for historical information)
Okay. I think for safety sake and until I explore some on my own, I will stick to using "Genesis 2 compatible" clothing and accessories for my Victoria 6 model.
