Install Manager says it installed various models, but DAZ Studio doesnt see anything

I am so confused.

According to the Install Manager I have installed 13 items including the David Base and Micheal 4 Base.

But when I open DAZ Studio 4.6 it doesnt show me anything. Nada. Ziltch.

I dont seem to be able to figure out where Instal Manager 'installed' things to, and I dont know where to tell Daz Studio to look for them.

Cant we all just get along?

I am running on a Windows XP machine 32bit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

So then shouldn't this attached screen shot mean I am good to go, since everything is looking in the same place

I still dont see anything in the Smart Content though.

I was able to 'open' and go track down Genisis, and load it, but it doesnt show up in Smart Content.

That means that your CMS is not running. Smart content needs the CMS to function. In your Start menu go to the DAZ 3D section and open the Content Management section and click the Start CMS entry. Then try DAZ Studio again.

Hmm, did the Start CMS thing, and still nothing showing up in the Smart Content pane.

I notice on the DAZ 4.6 load screen it says: Connecting to CMS...

But I dont notice anything being available to work with.

You may need to import the metadata if CMS is running and your still getting no content in smart content. That is on the Content Library Tab the mini menu (four lines) Content DB Maintenance then set this...

Hmm,

So I ran the StartMenu - Start DAZ Content Management Service

I opened DAZ Studio 4.6

I checked Re-Import Metadata

It pops up the attached menu, which struck me as quite promising

then it very quickly flashes the progress bar (which I screen grabbed at the base of the attached image) also quite promising

and....

Nothing.

As the black guy in Spaceballs says, "We aint found sheet!"

I closed DAZ and reopened, and nothing.

Why is it so hard?

i see on your screen that you don't set the "application path 64 or 32"

set the path and try again!

The CMS is still not running, I think a application on your PC is shutting it down and refusing to let it communicate on the PORT it wishes to open. Read this and see if it can help you get going.

I'm having the same problem.
By foolishness, I reset the database and now everything is empty as far as mart content goes.
re-importing the metadata does nothing.

I've checked your DAZ Content Management Service article.
It seems that this app crashes or isn't allowed.
