Moving Dreamland City Blocks?

I bought some of the Dreamland city blocks from Renderosity to use in DS. They load into DS fine but when I try to move them I can only move them forwards, backwards or up and down but not diagonally. Dreamland don't support DS and couldn't answer my question which is how do I control the movement of these blocks diagonally? Any help appreciated.

The only way to get diagonal movement in D|S is to use the Translate Tool (four-headed arrow with small arrow pointer in the Toolbar). Select it, select the object you want to move, and the Translate widget will appear at the object's zero point. You can use the little yellow diagonal parts of the widget (warning, they're a small target) to drag the object diagonally.

Be careful doing this if you're new to it. The Translate widget can move things in one of three planes (flat on the "floor", left/right/up/down, and up/down/near/far) or straight along any of the x, y, or z axes. It can also be tilted if the object is tilted. Clicking on the wrong widget control will lead to movement in unexpected directions.

Note that the big problem with this is that the object's zero point might not be in its centre — it might not even be visible in the Viewport. You might want to use a spare camera zoomed back a bit (or a lot) so you can see what you're doing.

Dreamland city block are locked in order to remain into the limit of the grid.

Create a null, parent the city block root prop to the null, and finnally, translate the null using the translate tool or the param tab.

Thank you both for your help. I'll try out both solutions this weekend.
