Help! Daz 4.6 finds nothing in the "Content Library" if I use the search function!
I installed the stuff with the "DAZ 3D Manager", but Michael 5 does not appear. I can open him manually, but I want DAZ to be able to look for terms that I search for.
The files have all been downloaded to the folder: D:\Poser (which is a "Content library"). DAZ itself is on the HDD C:\
Poser Pro 2014 recognizes the external database, but Daz does not.
How come? The application directory for Daz has been configurated within the configuration manager. Moreover, The path has also been asigned to D:\Poser

If you mean that you are using the Search function at the top of the Content Library pane, it is a function of the CMS (Content Management Service) which must be running as a process in Task Manager before it will work at all.
Have you checked to see if CMS is running, if it is not, you could try starting it form the Windows Start menu, All Programs > DAZ 3D, and you should be able to start it from there.
What term are you trying in Search?
Yay! Thank both you for your reply!
Yes, the "Content Managment Service" is running on my Windows 8 machine.
I searched for "Michael 4" and also for "Michael 5". It does not spit out anything not even "Victoria 4" or "5". I have to search for it manually which is quite annoying... I bought the pro packages and I want to play quickly whith all the material, props, etc...
I attach a screenshot for you!
From that screenshot, DS isn't communicating with CMS -- if CMS is indeed running, there may be a security program blocking it, or another application using the same port.
I deinstalled "Avast Antivirus" and rebooted my system. The result is the same.
I attach a screenshot of the running Windows processes. The "Content Managment" is marked blue.
I don't think CMS is installed properly, mine is using almost 40 MB (37, 952 KB) in the Task Manager, so yours looks like it hasn't installed properly.
You can uninstall it from All Programs > DAZ 3D, then reinstall DS4.6 to get the latest version of CMS installed. CMS cannot be installed on it's own.
@JimmyC_2009: Thank you for your advise!
I uninstalled Daz and installed everything again. It did not help. Therefore, I installed Windows again and ... voilá now it works like a charme. THANK YOU! :)
A bit extreme, but I'm glad it works now.
CMS can be very useful.
Traditional advice for dealing with Microsoft machines. When in doubt, blow it all away and start from seed. Or buy a new computer! 8-o
