I too eagerly await the release of Genesis 2 Male. Genesis 2 took awhile to win me over, but with releases like Growing Up and some gorgeous characters like Gia she's become one of my favourite figures to work with. If they can keep the same degree of quality for a male figure then it'll be worth the wait. Of course, the little skeptic in me still thinks that the mesh might be identical to that of G2F as was the case with Generation 4, but I look forward to being proven wrong there.
Either way I hope Zev0 releases a Growing Up package for the boys too. Males typically get less love than the girls, and never is that more apparent than in child figures. I've literally seen only 2 male children character packs for K4 and neither of them have the same detail and attention as the girls do. So yes, more men and more boys! My roster of youths is looking decidedly weighted in favour of females thanks in no small part to a lack of morphs!
Maybe ForbiddenWhispers can create a 'Brothers' morph pack to twin the 'Sisters' morphs I own for G2F!
...if you have seen the work others and I have done with Growing Up, it should support my question..."why?"
I would rather have G2M and get the items I listed above so I can start creating male kid/teen characters.
...this T.J. charcter better have proper boob, butt, hip sizing, and posture, correction morphs, else she'll just be a Vicky6 "mini me".
??? This from Wiki hunting, or has she been mentioned in promos?
100% hunted. Base Poses and Expressions.
I'd love to post them, but DAZ will erase my post again... >_>
The weird thing is, the DAZ females have only recently started coaxing any real cash out of my pocket. I have a couple of V4.2 kits that show up in my renders from time to time, and a couple more V5's, but I've always told myself that the DAZ females just didn't quite work as well as the males.
I think I've been fibbing to myself along the way. I only recently started hanging out in the forum here, and I'm dazzled by the artistry of some of the V5 postings. In retrospect, it was more likely that I was rationalizing because I just didn't want to open myself to the kind of compulsive clothing- and accessory- buying I was already doing for the DAZ males here and over at Renderosity. I'm pretty sure I've tossed enough cash at both sites over the past few years to finance a small castle in Scotland and a helicopter to get me there. I don't ever go back and tally it up. Wouldn't be prudent :D
I think the new Girl is astonishingly well done. I don't own that model yet, but every time I see her in a good render or a promo pic, the old line from the late, great Robert Palmer floats through my head: "She's so fine, there's no telling where the money went."
The two big disappointments for the Gen5 figures for me were: First, the range of facial expressions just doesn't quite get there for flexibility, although a couple of the recently-released morph kits are a huge help. And second, same thing for the guys' chests. There's a very limited range of configurations for chest and abdominal musculature for the kinds of figures I like to do, and it's way too easy to screw those up.
Those are the two big fixes I'm waiting for with the Michael 6 series.
Actually... If you'll kindly look to the featured supported figures in AprilYSH's new Ianthe Hair and kindly look through the promos...
The teen characters eyes always seem so large to me. I'm just looking forward to having the ability to adjust the male characters body and not have the head adjust too. I could never make a good thin guy whose head wasn't odd.
Aprilyish has already stated elsewhere that none of the promo images feature the new Teen Josie.
According to April herself in this thread - http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/28834/ (it's in the members forum, in case not all of you have access to it) the character isn't teen Josie, but April's genesis 1 V5+Julie combo. None of the promo pictures feautures Josie, just tought you guys might want to know :)
Edit -
Seems me and Scorpio crossposted *waves at Scorpio*
When I saw the fit for Josie, and that four of the promos looked like a younger character, I made the assumption it was probably her.
I'm actually somewhat relieved to hear that the promos are a mix of Julie and V5, since my reaction to seeing them was that she looked rather too much like Julie, but aged up. Will be interesting to see what she turns out to be like, and how she fits in with or distinguishes herself from our concepts of the young teens, stephanie, realistic aiko, etc. ...and of course what we are already able to get with the Growing Up morphs.
Something that some of us in privet discussion suggested before... Notice how this time around, the character in question is labeled "Teen" and not "Young Teen", meaning an older teen that is well into puberty as opposed to the earlier stages of it.
Because of this, some of us speculate that this will be our double niche filler for both teen and petite as Stephanie did back in Gen 4. What do you guys think?
I'm hedging my bets about the outcome of that privet discussion
Now don't you go trimming and weeding it!
Oooh I see a mention of michael 6 here!
*pitches tent*
*hoards food for 6 months*
Bring it on :coolsmirk:
I'll have to wait and see how hot he is before I pitch a tent.
I'll have to wait and see how hot he is before I pitch a tent.
That brought a grin to my face ;)
I haven't really tried gen2 female but I like the more detailes on the base (I saw that the nose was much more refined!)
As of now I am able to make almost livelike renders and I am hoping that with the aid of M6 I will get even better results.
Here's an example of two figures from Male-M3dia, and I love the detail in the Gen2 nose:
