Installing Newer Version of Daz

HI, Is it necessary to uninstall the older version of Daz Studio before manually installing a new version? And if so, what happens to your previously downloaded content? Note: (I prefer not to use installation managers) It would be very helpful if this information was at the top of the help files. After some digging, I found this article:

But it made no reference to installing a new version over a previous version. Perhaps there is another wiki I did not find through search?

    If you install DS4 using a stand-alone uninstaller, it will uninstall an earlier version of DS4. It won't uninstall CMS, so if you originally installed a much earlier version you may want to manually uninstall CMS before installing the new DS. It won't uninstall DS3 or earlier -- you can have those installed as well as DS4 with no problem.
