Any Marvelous designer users here? A question.

Hi!
I made 30 frame animation in DAZStudio 4.6 using Genesis. Exported animation using collada format. Imported to MD3 as avatar. Made, simulated and animated my clothing in MD3. Exported finished clothing item from frame 30 as obj-file. (Particle distance 5). Imported said obj. back to DazStudio.

Results you can see. Imported clothing doesn’t seem to fit genesis perfectly. There are small pokethroughs here and there.
Is this Daz collada issue? I don’t have this problem if I export from DazStudio using obj instead of collada but it is difficult to handle animation in MD3 if you can only morph the avatar from one pose to an other.
Is there some parameter in MD3 I can fiddle to leave little space between avatar and garment? I tried adjusting pressure and simulation thickness but these did not make any difference.

I am having all kinds of trouble with 4.6 collada and MD. I am using MD2 I purchased and can't even get Daz collada into it anymore.

Right now I'm looking at Blender to open animation. I have a client who needs an md 3 animation to show on his web page but I can't get it out of MD to a online friendly format.

For outfits like this one where it covers most of the body you could get away with just hiding the mesh underneath.

Another option might be to try a scale factor for the import so that the mesh is marginally larger in MD3 for the sim. if you would come back and tell us if this works.

Reinhold, what settings did you use in the collada export to get genesis into MD and working? I used the 2012 collada export selection with disastrous results.

I was using MD3 trial at the time. Since then I decided to abandon DazStudio and use Carrara 8.5 and Fenrics mdd plugin to move a figure and animation to Marvelous Designer 3.

I can open DazStudio Genesis generic Collada figure (default settings when exporting, include animation) in MD2 just fine. Can’t test animation inside MD2 course I don’t have an animation plugin. I have MD2.4.33.
