Loading props in to the scene (FAIL)

Hey there, I hope someone can help me find a solution for my problem. I'm working on a scene and drag and drop items into it. But suddenly it's impossible for me to do this with stuff that's only available via the Content Library. It gives the short load window but without any result. Even stuff I could import into a scene just a few hours ago, now just doesn't work any more. Only items from the 'Smart Content' tab are working the way it should be...

I tried everything (uninstall and install the products and the whole Daz Studio software). Really, I don't get it. One moment everything works fine, the other moment...big failure!

Now everytime I try to import something into a scene I get a messagebox 'Select an item from the scene'. Even if the scene is still empty. That's new for me. And it doesn't matter what I choose. When I hit 'Accept' the item isn't in my scene.

I'm really desparate right now. It's my free Sunday and I was anxious to play with this fantastic 3D software (yes, newbie here :)) So I hope someone comes up with a magic spell to fix this issue.

    If you are getting the message that you need to select an item from the scene, probably your content is something like a material that needs to be applied to an object, rather than the object itself. If you search around, you should be able to find the actual object thumbnail you really wanted. ( I do this by accident regularly. If you can provide an example content thumbnail name, we can verify this for sure for you if you want, although I think that will be your answer.)
    When I install a new product and it isn't obvious which content are the objects and which are the materials, I usually categorize the materials into a separate subfolder under the content so I can easily identify which is which later.

    You're so right! And I'm such a newbie :) Even the fact that I was aware of this issue between the actual props and the textures, didn't stop me to make the same mistake again.
