Problem with preferences

If I change any preferences in 8.5 pro, carrara ceases to respond. Had this problem in the betas before but was ok in the last beta. Its back.
Im running a mac mini with 10.6.8 on it, i5 processor 4 core. havent tried it on my mac pro yet. any one else have this problem. where do i submit a bug report? thanx
