DOF tutorial?

Is there any good Depth of Field tutorial for Studio 4.6?
I'm trying to get the foreground as close to the camera in focus but it appears like I can only get what's behind it in focus and my attempts to correct it are making renders only Mr. Magoo could appreciate.

I just use the Perspective View to look at the DOF planes. You have to switch them on first for your camera in Parameters, but it is then very easy to see what will be in focus (what lies between the two planes)
Excellent! I'll mess around with this when I get home.
Take a look here about how you can be creative with DOF and other camera settings - http://www.photoaxe.com/depth-of-field-photography-tutorial-part-3/

thanks, all. these are great resources and for the past 5 years I've been doing all my DOF post production, needless to say it looks terrible.
Also a video tutorial, if you are interested - Cameras Editor
The biggest thing is to make sure that Depth of Field is on. After that, it is your focal distance, and F-stop that control what is focused and what is blurry. The depth of field planes can help you line that up.
