Gen 2 install manual

Somehow my old post got deleted, but my question is how do you install the new tech manually. That is to say under the old runtime technology I could have multiple folders with different runtimes depending on what I wanted. How would I go about doing this with the new technology (ei, without using the new content manager thing. Which is buggy as hell by the way). Mind you this is within Carrara 8.5.
