D/S 4.6 ... okay I give, what was done to the lights! SolVed :-)

Have a scene. Figure with clothing on. Clothing as in things like slacks, dresses, etc.

Normally in previous versions I could set up a few lights and do a spot render and everything was shown just fine.

Now ... okay it's a beautiful new render machine in D/S4.6 I'm sure but ... it seems to be great for skins.
However even striptease artists wear clothes.
The clothes, using previous lighting methods, come out, basically black. All black. Or shades of very dark grey. Like, nothing is broken, just there is no light on them. However even a default light render is not acceptable. Clothes are way too dark.

So, I've combed through the Parameters Tab, and IF I put something 6 lights per Viewport view: Front side A, Front Side B, tummy, shins, general full front, and up from the floor ... okay, one can "see" more of the clothing item ... and Genesis is like "white as the background" as I didn't put any skins on it for clothing promos. Some of the clothing items still are "way too dark".

Was there a default adjustment change for the lights? for the general Shading domains? I'm hoping I just missed some silly little dial or setting somewhere so this can be remedied easily.

Any clues?

All clothes or some specific ones? Uberenvironment lights render flipped normals as black, but that is usually caught in QA.

All clothes bearing darkish colours, as in blue jeans for example. This is not the flipped normals thing.

When one is looking at the viewport "default everything" with no lights. The spot render will be too dark.
If one adds a light to the viewport settings ... would never know it. Added 2 on the same spot and could see the cloth only a little bit better.
To render out some promo images, I used at least 6 lights for the same window. Not applying shadows.

The images are on the other computer as I'm still working on the mat files. But then it occurred to me that if I'm having to apply an inordinate number of lights just to see the cloth, the mat settings are going to be really wonky on somebody else's computer.

So I'm rather hoping that there's a switch somewhere to turn on the lights better.

I'm really sorry, then. It's not an issue I'm familiar with. Unless you're just adding a spot or point, but I'm assuming you know that won't light a whole scene.
