Carrara 8.5 pro Crash on Launch

I bought and downloaded C8.5 Pro last night. Every time I try and launch it it just vanishes. Have tried restarting the Mac but no luck. Does anyone out there know whether I need to uninstall and start again or do I need to launch in 'Root user' mode?

I had hoped that 8.5 was to be more user friendly than past launches. What worries me is that, having supposedly made C8.5 Pro Mac Os X friendly, there is a new MacOs due later this year which will be a major step change for the system. Will C8.5 Pro cope, or will I be stuck in Crash Land?

    hello,

    Which Mac OS X version are you using, and how did you install it? I know it runs on 10.6 -> 10.8.5.

    I have a mac power book OS X 10.7.5 running 8.5 64bit version. I was having the same problem. mine was being caused by the default openGL settings. I'm still a NOOB but Carrara actually recognized the problem and adjusted the settings itself after a few failed launch attempts.
