Export to Poser problem.

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Now that I've updated to 4.6 when I try to export to poser cr2 file the window that pops up for export now shows poser 9 in the version field and it's ghosted so I can't change it . I don't have version 9 my last poser update was to 7. In previous versions of Daz Studio I was able to use the drop down to select ver. 7 of Poser then I could use Poser to Lightwave Kit plugin to import the CR2 into my LightWave 3D app. When I go into the Daz Studio user Guide and click on saving and exporting all I get is exporting tri ax to poser 9, no help at all. Could anyone point me in the right direction here? Will I be forced to reinstall an older version of Daz studio in order to export older poser version CR2's ?

You cannot use triax in versions prior to Poser 9.

The Legacy type rigging (Generation 4 and earlier) works directly in Poser up to and including Poser 8. Genesis and Genesis 2 use triax weight mapping, and Poser 9 onwards can use this via the DSON importer for Poser as far as I know. That would seem to be your problem, but I'm sure someone else can explain it more fully.

Yes, you can export legacy-rigged cr2's, but TriAx-rigged items can't be exported to Poser versions that don't have weight-mapping.
