Runtime folder advice

Have many Runtime folders for Poser, some are kept in external devices ( My Books)
Because of a recent interest in DAZ Studios ( and some big sales) have collected a
DAZ Studio Runtime on my harddrive of over 40gbs.
This folder is the default of all installs.

Question.
If I move the entire folder to an external device such as My Book, will it run/render with
approximately the same speed?.

Would be willing to purchase an additional external device and dedicate it to this purpose.
Realize I would have to change default settings etc.
Did not realize my interest in DAZ Studio would be that great or would have created sub folders
earlier.
Premier Artists sale put me over the top:-)
Any opinions would be appreciated.

    An external USB drive will be a bit slower than an internal one, but it will work.

    Thank you.
    Approximately, if a render took 10 minutes if done from the hard drive.
    What would it take from an external drive?
    Good guess would suffice.

    It shouldn't affect render times at all, or at least, very little in my opinion.

    It will affect scene loading and saving speed, and loading content into DAZ Studio because of the speed of the device.
