Daz Studio 4.6 Win - Smart Content STILL missing after 3 uninstalls...
Daz Studio 4.6 Pro, Win 7.
I had it the product installed correctly and everything was working correctly. I added my Poser 2010 directories, and some time after that the Smart Content pane stopped working. So I followed these directions to the letter THREE TIMES:
https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/22523891-Trouble-shooting-the-Smart-Content-Pane
I've even poked around and deleted all the material left over in the Program Filess/DAZ 35 folder after completing the uninstall.
The problem is, it keeps sucking in the old info. Every time I do the reinstall, it still knows my username and password for the Daz 3D Install Manager. Also, the Content Directory Manager knows the paths to my Poser content.
HOW CAN I GET MY CONTENT BACK, or do a complete uninstall (I don't even mind if I have to download all my content again)?
I'm at my wits end!

DS is a living, breathing entity that has a memory and will hang on to everything you feed it.
No, but really, the settings are located in C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4. AppData by default is a hidden folder, so you'll need to enable hidden files/folders (Windows Explorer > Organize > Folder Options > View > tick "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" > apply > ok). After you uninstall everything, delete that folder and poof, your settings are gone.
Before uninstalling, just to check, turn on the CMS by going to Start > All Programs > Daz 3D > Daz Content Management Service > Start Daz CMS.
Now press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up your task manager and go to the Services tab.
Press the Name header to sort alphabetically and look for DAZContentManagementService, which should say Started next to it.
Launch DS with the task manager still open and see if that changes to Stopped.
Yep if CMS = Content Management Service is not running then smart content will not show up.. If CMS is running you can get Studio to re initialize the metadata with the the icon that looks like an arrow on a page where the content pane is.. This will bring up a menu go down to Content DB Maintenance and from there tick either or both the Process Metadata Queue and or Re-Import Metadata..
I did a 100% uninstall, including ALL content in the DAZ 3D Library. I even cleaned the cookies from my browsers (I think that's where it was remembering my user name and password in the Install Manager, but I could be wrong). This seems to have FINALLY fixed my Smart Content problems. I will keep you posted.
The install manager settings are in the location I gave you.
C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D
Glad you got it sorted, though.
