Regarding errors

I already asked this a few months ago when I was brand new to DAZ.

At the time the answers I got were beyond my knowledge. I cant find that old thread, so I will ask once again.

When I first log into DAZ I get an error message,

"Duplicate ID formulas were found please check your log"

When I check it, the log just looks like a mile long list of gibberish. I have no idea what it all means or what I am even looking for.

One other problem I am having.

Once in a while when I render I will see in the "History" this error message.

3Delight message #13 (Severity 1): R2054: primitive (or parts of) '' discarded during eye-split.

I sure in heck don't know what an eye-split is, but it sure sounds painful....

Thank you for your time and help in advance.

I have been told that the duplicate ID message can be safely ignored. If you really want it to go away, some peple have duplicate ID scripts that do...something..., you can ask around for those.

ok these are afaik's on this one.

The first error means that somewhere in the DUF file(usually genesis or associated content, haven't run into with anything else) is something referring to an older version, and a newer version of the same thing. Usually a morph.

For instance, until i completely cleaned my system of all older genesis content, the newer version was throwing this error all the time.
What was happening was the data/duf/ds* files had file references that were replicated due to the old and new versions of things.
DLM drove me nuts till i just purged the system.
    Haven't gotten it since.

YOu'll probably be best to purge the genesis stuff and reinstall.
I'll still get it on certain genesis clothing items, but that is because i haven't updated to all DLM versions of everything.

The second error has to do with how 3delight handles certain items, basically it's eliminating certain geometries, or parts there of.
Most of the time it has no effect on renders.
(thanks to herald of fire on this one)

Here's a couple posts regarding these issues i found
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/23299/
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/17530/#259463

FOr the most part neither has much of an impact on the items in a scene or rendering.
They just get annoying after a while.

Duplicate IDs or Duplicate Formulas? The former is a newish issue, I do have a script for fixing content but it shouldn't be sued on saved scenes. The latter is an older issue and is fixed by updating the affected morphs (in the case of the Genesis Evolution Expressions installing the old version first)

    I have these errors:

    3Delight message #13 (Severity 1): R2054: primitive (or parts of) 'shapematerial_Default_2123_84a' discarded during eye-split
    3Delight message #13 (Severity 1): R2054: primitive (or parts of) 'shapematerial_Default_2126_84d' discarded during eye-split
    3Delight message #13 (Severity 1): R2054: primitive (or parts of) 'shapematerial_Default_2198_895' discarded during eye-split
    3Delight message #13 (Severity 1): R2054: primitive (or parts of) 'shapematerial_Default_2201_898' discarded during eye-split

I just installed "Genesis Evolution Expressions" is there more I need to do?

I had the errors before installing Genesis Evolution Expressions.

Is the render looking wrong? If not then the message is probably harmless.

I can have everything hidden but lights and camera and get the error. Even deleting all the figures the error remains.
Mostly concerned that something might corrupt my file.
Not sure that is a real concern.

No, it is often (possibly even always) present and not a serious issue - though i suppose there might be situations when soemthing else triggered it and the render did suffer as a result. it is relating to sending data from the scene to 3delight, it doesn't affect the scene data directly in any event.

    Thank you.
Seeing more a different kinds of errors. Will watch and try to learn.

I am having anomalies like this:

Nothing is different except the camera angles. Why do the two lines disappear?

    Epic_127_test.png
    3840 x 2160 - 1M
    Epic_126_test.png
    3840 x 2160 - 2M

I have tried different lights including the head lamp - no change.

Duplicated the lines so there 2 sets over lapped - no change.

Changed them from matte to plastic, metal etc - no change.

Classic things like opacity, diffuse, ambiant levels - no change.

While technically the images are from two different cameras the same thing happens with moving one camera.

The lines show in the Viewports just not the 3Delight render.

Note: I did not mean to make such large test images - forgot to reset that setting.

Deleted the two lines and recreated them. That solved the issue.
