Medusa/Gorgon poses???

edited December 1969 in The Commons

Hey all,

Once again, I am here looking for some help from the great people here!

Ok, today's subject is RawArt's "The Gorgon."

http://www.daz3d.com/the-gorgon

This is a WONDERFUL figure, but I must be missing something... When I try to pose it, the tail flips like an earthworm trying not to go on a hook, and the top looks like soft-serve ice cream, or taffy!

I love the textures and the whole concept, but is there a simple pose for this? I would LOVE it if someone had some advice (other than, "It's a tough model, you just have to work with it.").

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

-David

I found that selecting individual segments of the tail, and posing them in the Parameters tab, worked best for me. If you could post some renders of what it's doing, I could probably offer some other suggestions.

With the tail selected in the parameters tab under General-Tail Morphs you will find some morph dials to help with the posing. Then as riftwitch suggest select individual sections to finish of posing.

I'm not sure what the OP means by 'soft serve ice cream' in reference to the tail, unless he's getting some distortion where the tail meets the Genesis body. More extreme morphs will make the area get weird. What I have found is a simple solution is to dial the Swole lower body morph down a bit in the negative direction (assuming you have Swole); reducing the size of the legs (you can't see them, but they're apparently still there) brings the tail's mesh back to normal, if the shape you're using isn't too extreme. I would imagine this could be done with the Evolution Body Morphs, too, but it's quick and easy with just one morph.

Edit: I just tried a bunch of Genesis poses, from A5 to V5, and I didn't notice any sort of weirdness with the tail.

there might be an inky chain on the tail.
had the same problem with eastern dragon and jabberwocky. in poser there's a checkbox on the heirarchy editor to turn off ik.

DS prolly has a checkbox somewhere.

Well, I have been working on this for a few hours, and this is the situation I have had happen EVERY time I try to use the tail.

I click on the tail, and it bends forward and the body stretches, looking like a thin piece of "taffy." When I try to correct it (by clicking on the tail and dragging it toward the bottom of the genesis figure), it flips around (as does most figures with tails or long necks), wraps around itself like a worm. The flat piece generally expands and what should resemble a tail on the figure looks more like a creature that swallowed a ruler.

The textures are amazing, but the tail (at least, in my opinion at this point) needs some general poses for it.

If someone with some experience with this model is able to set up some poses, I for one would definitely buy them.

Thanks for your advice. I have NO idea what an "inky chain" is, however. :/

Well, I think I have some positive news.

If this is an inky chain, then I am glad you suggested it. :D
