Hi, I'm learning how to make new textures for clothes using the texture templates that is offered with some of the clothing, I found a tutorial on the net explaining how to do it and I get it, however it tells me to save the template as JPEG, but when I go into Daz, I can locate the folder where I saved it, but Daz is not reading the file format...is this the correct way to save the textures or do I need to do something in Daz so it reads JPEG files? Any help appreciated!

A texture file is just a JPEG image, and it needs to be loaded into the Surfaces pane in the Diffuse channel.
Once you have done that, you can use the File > Save As > Material(s) Preset to save a DUF format file which will load the texture file for you the next time you use the DUF file. You will be given choices in the Save As > Material(s) Preset box, and you need to tick the ones that you want to save, like SkinNeck, SkinHip etc (the names may be slightly different in clothing items).
See how you get on with that?
Thanks Jimmy, I'll try that!
Maybe you're being bitten by a long-standing confusion of terms — for years, going back to the early Poser times, we've talked about "textures" when we actually meant "the script files that load the textures". The two file types are stored in completely different places, loaded in different ways, and the two can't be made to mix. I don't think anything can be done about it at this late stage, almost everyone who's been using Poser or DAZ|Studio for more than a little while uses the term like that.
