Lori Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s)

Hi Little Ladyfox,

I love your new Lori Hair. It has lots of useful texturing options (often I need to buy a separate texture package to get good textures for a Hair figure).

Most importantly, you have put lots of bones in the tails which means they can be put in the pose I want; thank you very much! You even made it dForce compatible... really looking forward to playing with that.

One request regarding the icons for the textures. For each texture option there are three icons (see image), one for 3Delight-G3, one for Iray-G3 and one for Iray-G8. However, they are not in the same order for each colour option. Sure the 3Delight is obvious because it is labelled RSL. In future Hair packages could you please label the Iray icons G3 and G8 separately so I don't have to keep checking which icon is for which character.

By the way, which texture combination did you use for the promo pic (see image)? I can't seem to reproduce that colour... that may be my lighting, of course.

I'm not sure Lady Littlefox can do anything about that. That appears to be related to the metadata, which is handled by DAZ3D themselves.

She could have put G3F or G8F in the filename.

Actually they should work for both versions of the hair. Tried to keep them that way for simplicity.  If they dont, let me know.  There are only two copies so that they are easy to find for both hair.

 

The main promo with the trees is base ash blonde, lighten streaks and tips ans darken roots I believe..

Thanks for the comment! I had seen Lori Hair, found it very beautiful .... and decided NOT to buy it, NOR to put it on my wish list!

Why? Because I had enough of hair with two pigtails turning out to be UNUSABLE or with a handling making me change the hair after a horrible waste of time at every single attempt. Even the thought of pigtails made me grumpy  ... when I was planning new compositions   ;-)

So, thanks for sharing the experience, looks like this product is finally usable hair with two pigtails ....

Since we are in the forum for product suggestions: I think there are a lot of M4/V4, Genesis and G2 hair products that would be really attractive .... I am amazed that nobody cares to update these products on G3 and G8 - would that be so much work?

hair products are very easy to use with other generations. Just load it, don't autofit, position it, then parent to the head and apply a smoothing modifier for a tighter fit. You can then save a copy as a figure/prop assets for future use. In my experience, many of the older V4 era hairs don't look that great in Iray which is maybe why they are not updated.

I feel your pain andreretogasser. I have had to do the same thing. But Lori Hair has lots of bones in the tails and dForce works on the strands at the side/front. It would be nice to have dForce working on the tails too, but maybe that is technically difficult. Anyway, it has bones and that is what counts. Great work Little Ladyfox! :)

Yep, 3dl and iray materials both work on either version.  I've cut the 'uvmap' designation and 'geometry' designation out of the code and it should behave itself with either hair.

I could not resist the super-cuteness of this particular hair, so grabbed it too.  Hah!  Haven't played with it yet, though.

Wonderful hair  Can it be better? Of course, but this is the best twintail hair I've found so far, and Ive been collecting hair for Poser/DS for nearly twenty years.

The boned tails pose easily enough, allowing me to drape the tails naturally, and the dForce strands hang nicely if you let them settle fully. Love it.
