trouble with cats and hair and and and...

I've spent a good part of my evening trying to figure out what is going on with this scene. V6's hair is the Ranger hair, Mil cat with the grey cat texture. A single spotlight and when it renders out, it looks like the seams on the texture are being emphasized. V6's hair looks horrible as well. The dog's nose is supposed to be black, but it looks like a cotton ball has been stuffed up into it. This happens with any light, but the scene is with a single spot.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks,
Ed

I've got no advice on your issue, I just want to say that this render is amazing, the story telling is fantastic, I can feel for this young lady and it appears the animals also can feel her pain and want to comfort her. I love the spot light sort of lighting in an otherwise dark and lonely environment, adds to her feeling of isolation and scrutiny and need for love. Excellent choices here, bravo!
What's your shading rate for this scene? You can find it on the render settings tab. Setting it to a lower number like 1.0, .1, or .01 should help.
I concur shading rate is off, lower it to .5 and see how the seams look then, and the dog looks to have the Poser texture files loaded causing the SHINE on the nose. If you do not have the DS texture files you can edit the Poser settings in the Surfaces Tab when the Dog is selected in the Scene tab.
Thank you Ladychance and Jaderall. That did turn out to be the issue. Not sure why, but I think I must have clicked on shading rate at some point instead of gamma as I had intended.
Thank you for the kind words Rashad. Hopefully I can get AoA's ambient light to work today and finish this
