How can I import a custom rigged character from Blender3d into daz?
The collada export/import doesn't appear to work, it produces a really messed up mesh and skeleton in Daz.
I do not want to have to re-rig the character again in Daz because I have a library of 100's of pre-rigged characters and it would take days.

You could try FBX, but if that doesn't work either I suspect you may be stuck - rigging transfers, especially between different systems of rigging, can be tricky at best.
I will also suggest FBX.
Try checking the export for Second Life option in the Collada exporter in Blender. This is what I had to do to prevent them being messed up in DS after import.
